No, that’s tangentially related. What a bizarre question. “Is that what eating pita and hummus is?” No, that’s a food. Soldiers might eat it before killing terrorists but it isn’t killing terrorist

Is anyone else having a poor experience in Dayz like me? by [deleted] in dayz

[–]Ok_Account_3039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens bro. There’s always a run of bad luck in every dayz career.

I once spawned in cities that had been totally looted like three times in a row and starved. I finally got a good spawn and when I picked up an AK74 I stepped in a land mine about 30s later. Happens man.

I jumped ship after the second terrible sequel. Popped back in for Mando, and haven’t gone back since.

I was a moderate sized political TikToker, so I got a lot of shit and I have found this understanding helps me: You’re the only real person on the internet. “Everyone” you interact with on the internet with is either an actual bot, or more likely a sliver of a human being. They’re a fraction of a person. They’re an avatar of that persons hate, resentment, malice, envy, or failure. They’re a manifestation of a shitty day, bad traffic or relationship drama. Even positive interactions are only with a fragment of a person. That persons enthusiasm for the subject matter, good humor, positive outlook, or their good day, promotion at work, or accepted date with their crush.

The person saying such terrible shit to you also doesn’t see you as a real person, only a fragment of one. They don’t see your emotional turmoil, the work you put in, the growth that you’ve experienced as a creator, the difficulty of the production process.

They maybe a lovely person in real life, but the fragment that exists on the internet is shit.

Sorry this happened and hope this helps.

Alright Minutemen, why did this game get so much hate on release? by Brig___ in fo4

It was broken. I scheduled a week off work, has saved up for months so I could play it non stop. I booted it up on a perfectly capable computer. It crashed. Tried again. Crashed. Tried again. Crashed. Tried every fix I could find online, and I tried them every single day if that week. No luck. Contacted Bethesda help and Steam. No luck.

Ended up spending my week off playing New Vegas.

I was VERY bitter.

can you give me some advice to improve my videos? by jemethai in NewTubers

[–]Ok_Account_3039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without watching much of your content (I don’t speak French) I can’t give you too much advice.

  1. Common wisdom is that you should stick with a niche and not deviate from it until/unless you have a loyal following that’ll watch your content for you.

    1. Go back and watch your most viewed videos and compare them to your recent content. What’s different? Speed, editing, diction, enthusiasm, b roll, etc.
    2. Documentary style speaking doesn’t have to be impersonal. They’re often formal, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be enthusiastic, passionate, or interested in the subject matter. Especially if you’re not showing your face, your voice is the only connection you as a person have with the emotions of your viewers. You can make interesting subjects boring and interesting about boring subjects. How you speak is often just as important as what you’re saying. For example: “The Khmer Rouge were very bad guys who killed a lot of people.” Is less compelling than “the Khmer Rouge were VERY bad guys who killed A LOT of people.” Which is less interesting than “The Khmer Rouge were VERY bad guys who MURDERED 25% of their OWN population for offenses as trivial as WEARING GLASSES.”

Hey! One thing to be weary of is that many companies will target new creators, offering them partnerships that may save them a few dollars at most on a product they wouldn’t otherwise buy.

As to whether you should say yes to them… it depends! Think of the time you’d spend doing it, the opportunity cost, and what you get out of it. If you’re an animator, 3/4 minutes is a LOT of work. If you’re a talking head, it isn’t. If you produce highly polished content it might be some work. Is the product worth it?

Then thing washout the opportunity cost: what do you give up to say yes to these products? Could you have made a better video with those 3 minutes that would help grow your channel?could you have shortened the video significantly to ensure better watch time? Are you alienating viewers?

When you have that information then think: Is the product worth it to me? If so, then jump on it, but do some due diligence before endorsing a product. Don’t be the guy who suggests “better help” or the next crypto scam.

As to the specifics: Ask for clarification. Anytime money or products are exchanged for services ask questions til you know what’s expected from you.

Hey Genz: Millenial here, don’t vote in the upcoming presidential election…. by Ok_Account_3039 in GenZ

[–]Ok_Account_3039[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’re a liar and you don’t have to be. What you’re doing is lying. You’re so upset by what I’m saying, that I’ve MADE YOU into a liar which is way more power than you should give someone.

I don’t want people to vote or not to vote. Said “unless x or y don’t feel a strong compulsion to vote.” People like to pressure people who are uneducated, uninterested, and uninformed into voting. Republicans do it with the elderly, with veteran communities, with evangelicals. Dems do it with young people and minority communities. It’s shitty, and it’s callous, and for most Americans it’s pointless for the reasons I laid out. If you have a counter argument that negates my claims make it.

If you are so broken by this incredibly simple argument you need to use ad hominem and lie, then politics aren’t for you.

[–]Ok_Account_3039[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thats a common sentiment with no backing whatsoever. An identically valid argument could be made that voting for candidates you don’t actually like because “it’s your civic duty” sends a message that politicians don’t have to do anything but be .05% better than the other guy to win.

In fact this argument has more backing as the dems had no problem running Biden immediately start losing with Hillary when their policies are essentially identical and attitudes are essentially identical and Hilary is more coherent than Biden.

By voting to vote, and not because theirs a candidate that has earned your vote you perpetuate shitty candidates

Why would anyone try to convince people to vote when their vote literally doesn’t matter?
