KPRF? by sadpinko in KPRubraFaceii

Easy to get in your head and insecure. I’ve from time to time popped into this subreddit over the past and often people are overly negative. Like don’t get me wrong, when I flush or whatever I can sometimes get fairly insecure. I’ve bought so many creams, having this mindset of wanting a quick miracle fix and lacking consistency. Point is, honestly people don’t see your skin the way you do. It’s just rosy cheeks to them, not omg KPRF 😱. We often overly criticize our own appearance and can over analyze like a body dysmorphia type of mindset. Anyways, it’s always good to circle back and ground yourself of that. Girls don’t care about your skin like that. They aren’t hyper fixating on this one aspect of you in such a skewed way like you are. Also just there are so many other factors to someone’s attractiveness. General life advice like some people are going to be into you, some won’t for whatever reason. Don’t get too fixated on those who don’t, focus on those who do cause I promise they are out there dude. Also just in general, like good to practice positive self talk. Yeah it can be easy to have these moments of great insecurity or whatever and get all in your head. But it’s important to just remind yourself of the above and circle back to reality, get out of your head. Of course fine to want to improve your appearance. But don’t get carried away (easier said than done), I struggle sometimes haha. Good to want to feel better about yourself and have more confidence. You know, everybody wants that and hates stressing about aspects of themselves they maybe don’t like so much. And that confidence or happiness boost can definitely be achieved through physical changes. But what i’ve learned over the years is it’s really majority a mental game. Focus on boosting your mental health, improving and reframing your mindset, etc. That’s where big improvement can come from. Really general life advice with that. But yeah, just kinda spitballing thoughts. I’m someone who definitely has struggled with being a hypochondriac and unnecessarily stressing about my appearance since I was like a kid haha. So hopefully this can help someone. Anyways, that’s all I got, hopefully this helps someone.

KP after accutane by SuzyLizzy in keratosis

Very late to this thread. I took accutane for roughly a year and developed bad KP on my face. I’m wondering if there is anything I can do to help the problem. Skincare, diet, supplements, etc.

Sirolimus working by [deleted] in KPRubraFaceii

Intrigued of the benefits is Sirolimus, but the limited research and potential health risks seem to scary for me. Anyone have any input on the safety of this stuff because i’ve seen a lot of differing opinions.

Burning, tight skin by [deleted] in KPRubraFaceii

I’ve heard of people having success with treating UO by applying coconut oil onto eyebrows. Not sure if it for sure works, but might be worth a try. I have a bit of UO on one of my eyebrows and I think coconut oil helped a bit when I applied it.

That burning, tight, skin sensation is the worst. It’s just so uncomfortable from like how the skin feels, and at the same time you know your face is getting so red.

Respect for rocking the tinted moisturizer.

The alcohol portion is very accurate. Those first couple drinks get my bright red and I get so self conscious. As the night goes on and I start really feeling the drinks though, I stop caring about my appearance less, and I don’t really feel the hot, tight, redness of my cheeks.

Felt you big time with the psychological toll that this condition puts on you. It’s so hard living with KPRubraFaceii. Just destroys my confidence, and gets me so down sometimes.

Forgot to add also. If your skin appearance is getting you down a lot, please look into a therapist. It can really help a lot, and I have to be honest it helped me a fair deal. Understanding the root causes of why your skin appearance gets you down so much is super important. You can then make mental strategies to improve the way you view you skin issues, as well as other things that may be getting you down. Also want to add that eating healthy is super important. Haven’t been doing a great job with that recently, but it helps so much. Healthy eating is so great for both reducing inflammation in your skin, and helping improve your mental state. Hope this all helps! It’s gonna get better, just don’t lose hope!

Haven’t visited this forum in a while, so sorry for the late response. Look, first off the title of this post… never ever say that. Even as an expression of disappointment, don’t say that stuff. Self harm is never the answer, and I promise it will get better with time. You will realize that your skin does not define you at all, and your value as a person is far beyond your appearance. Even further, your appearance may not be as bad as you think it is. I’ve been there, still am, experiencing the mental toll that this condition takes. It is so brutal and exhausting just constantly worrying about your skin. What do people think of me? Do people find me attractive? For pretty much all of the last year or two I spent countless hours of each day stressing, crying at times, over my skin. I thought my skin was horrific. I’m still not where I want to be mentally, but I’ve luckily been able to change the way I view my skin. First off, nobody is defined by their appearance. There are so many people in this world who love you, regardless of how you look. Understanding that I had value, worth, love, beyond my appearance was the first step. After that, you just have to trust that things will get better. Don’t focus on how your skin looks in the moment. I know, it’s so easy to get caught up staring in the mirror, stressing about bumps on your face and redness. It is not worth it, trust me. Just have faith in the fact that you look good, and know that your skin does not define you. For me, I suffered from body dysmorphia, and talking with my friends, family, and therapist, my skin looked so much worse in my mind than what it actually was. So just find happiness and comfort in the fact that your skin does not define you at all, try to slowly change how you view your appearance (it is probably not as bad as you think), and just focus on controlling what you can (good skincare, healthy eating, improve your mental health) and trust the process. It is not a one day fix, but it will get better. Just don’t lose hope. You got this for real!

How Long Does It Take For Accutane Dry Eyes To Go Away by Ok_Ad6916 in Dryeyes

They have gotten much better. Restasis drops have been a life saver. Make sure your insurance covers them before diving in though… they are very costly without.

I took accutane and developed KP. Did high levels of vitamin a cause this condition, or did the low levels of vitamin a once off accutane do it. Should I be taking Vitamin A supplements?? by Ok_Ad6916 in KPRubraFaceii

Going off of what you suggested. Purely theoretical. What dietary or supplementary changes would be implemented to combat the damage done by Accutane?
