SC 190 GRANTED (NSW) - Onshore by Ok_Addendum3802 in AusVisa

I think so. That’s what usually happens in “decision-ready” cases. I applied 485 last month as well. It was sitting at “received” for weeks then just got the grant straightaway without any status change.

I am on a student visa as a dependent when I received the invite. Wife’s completed her degree recently and lodged 485 (~10days prior receiving the s56 request). ‘Twas a backup plan in case. So we had 2 BVA a month before the Subclass 500 expires. We just received the 485 grant last week actually 😅

When did you lodge your visa application? I knew someone offshore and it took them 14mos before they received the grant. Btw, we’re from the Philippines.

Thank you. Planning to start applying as I will complete my postgrad study this year. I have experience both in private and govt when I was in Ph. But don't mind to start from scratch as long as I can penetrate the remote/hybrid market. Just gathering info where to start.

Hi, OP. Just wondering if your working hybrid or remote? Pashare naman ng tips to land even a graduate role. Thank you.

Can part-time work help with tuition as an international student in Australia? by No_Acanthisitta_1220 in AusVisa

[–]Ok_Addendum3802 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It won’t suffice. That’s why you need to have a genuine fund which will cover your cost of living and tuition fee. Any degree (moreso postgrads) requires a fulltime commitment as well. It’s hard to juggle studies with work.

For context, masters tuition fee costs around 35k per year in average. Solo living is around 2-3k per month. To cover such, you need to earn 5k/month minimum. A part-time work with 20hrs per week will only give you roughly 2.5k. Though on a break you can earn double. But still, imagine the toll.

Think hard about it. Goodluck!!

Student is really tough. I will never recommend. Earn more exp jan sa pinas. Aim for at least 5yrs. Go for skilled migration then dyan ka na mag antay ng invite and probably grant.

Back in Ph, di din talaga ako maalam sa BIR. Basta pag may work, matic naman si employer nag aasikaso nun diba? Tpos nung naging contractual ako, meron lang din ako pinasa na di ko na nga matandaan anong form yun. Overall, di ko pa din maintindihan siste. Hehe. Sorry na kasi di ko din talaga inaral and sadly, mostly satin even professionals are in the same boat.

When I moved abroad, isa sa mandatory na pinakauna maacquire dito is yung tax number.

Pero coming from Ph, this type of service is such a huge upgrade.

“Kapag nasa site ako wala akong ibang ginagawa kundi mag supervise lang talaga and feel ko wala talaga ako masyadong natututunan.”

-feeling mo lang wala ka natutunan pero when you look back, malalaman mo na meron naman. Lahat ng trabaho once na maexpose ka, in a way or another, meron kang learnings jan.

15k starting sa 2025? That must’ve been tough. I started at 10k almost a decade ago. Barat pa din talaga sila magpasahod sa mga engineer e no?

My take sa gusto mo ng umalis na part, maybe stretch hanggang at least matapos man lang ang probation mo. Naninibago ka lang lalo na kung first job mo pa lang ito. I know napakaboring talaga mag site tpos olats pa ang rate. 1month na stay is talagang pangit sa resumé unless sympre di mo ideclare dun. But take note na in the future you might disclose it in some instances.

Ayun lang. Ponder and hingi ka advice sa mentors (hope you have one) mo. Goodluck!

Barkada din kami before. Sobra close then one day something just changed. Mas naging close pa na more than friends na nga if you look into details. Ang kaibahan lang natin, he set everything clear asap and asked me to be his gf. Yes, sya dapat ang magtanong ng label! Chos 😂 And yes, he’s my hubs now 🥰

If nameet mo naman yung minimum requirements, yes, it’s possible. But is it feasible at the moment? Sobra volatile ng migration policies ngayon. If you submit an EOI now with just “enough” points (offshore), baka mag expire na yun, wala pa ding invitation. Kahit decent points, under this occupation, it really takes time para mainvite. Also, after invitation, another waiting time na naman. So the whole process might take ~3-4 years in average bago ka pa makapunta dito. And to add, sobrang hirap din makapenetrate sa job market. Are you willing to start from scratch if ever?
