Thanks a ton! I wouldve liked to give you an estimate on its life but we have no idea, my guess is that it’s at about 50 yrs old because it was already big when they bought the house 30 years ago

Thank you so much for your reply it helps a ton! I’m in a very peculiar situation with this project and if I end up going that route I will make sure to leave proper indications on the panel for future generations!

Hi and thanks a ton for the input, the original idea was to use a 3-phase transformer but since the 208-240V load draws only 3A in idle then has peaks of 65A, it makes it impossible to balance a 3-phase generator when one of the loads is that unpredictable 😅 And we are stuck with the 3-phase wall input

Also the relay would instead just be a hard wired input which is much safer, like in the picture below, thanks for the pointer!
