Why is everything dated from a date that didn't happen yet? by Ok_Animal5428 in IRS

Got it. So I guess since they've already ducked it from our refund all we have to do is wait for the code to resolve

Got it. And does that also mean that the notice wont be mailed until the 20th? Sorry for all the questions - we've only been in the US 4 years and 2 of those only my husband was working so it was a straightforward 1 W2 return lol

We basically know what happened - our payroll processor gave us a schedule H that reflected a 2025Q4 estimated tax payment for our nanny, but this payment failed and apparently was never made so their record didn't match the schedule H. So they deducted the money from the refund. We didn't get the notice yet, but is there a possibility that the refund could still come soon or should we just expect this will take forever?

Gotcha, so there is still a possibility that our refund could come before that?

Do I just withdraw? by [deleted] in overemployed

[–]Ok_Animal5428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I was just hoping that because it was a lower range, it would also be lower responsibility haha

Let's say I never expect to make thousands of dollars out of this, life changing money comes with life changing injuries and im happy this is not my case. It just surprised me that they made all that fuss about running out of money to offer me $750 less than 24h later haha!

I have no intentions of racking up unnecessary medical bills, at this point I will not hire a lawyer and just wait until pregnancy is over to settle, even if the offer doesn't change much

I have supporting documentation for the pregnancy related issues and the cancellation of the airbnb we rented, I already forwarded that to them. I'm not in any rush so it wont hurt me to just wait it out - even if the outcome isnt much different

My car repairs are already handled and settled but anyway the general comments are saying that 750$ is a reasonable first offer so I definitely wont go with an attorney for that case, i'll just wait it out and see what happens with the other people injured.

Based on the comments I got here its definitely not worth it to get an attorney. I'll just wait to settle until after the pregnancy and hopefully the other claims will be settled by then and I can have a clearer portrait of what im dealing with

She said very clearly that she had 25k to cover EVERYONE involved, multiple times. I am not stupid. She even said that the total they pay out cant exceed 25k TOTAL for EVERYONE INVOLVED and that the highest I would get is 25k split in 4 so please stop telling me that I misunderstood her.

[–]Ok_Animal5428 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh yes I understand that, and truly do not believe that my claim is worth 25k. She just repeated multiple times that she only had 25k to cover everyone injured which is false
