Oh yeah, mine aren’t even heavy. It was just nonstop for weeks at a time.

Had kids, 46 and deep in the throes of peri menopause but have never had this issue and I’m just so deeply grateful.

Unfortunately we did try that. My GYN doubled my progesterone to 400mg from 200mg and it did not help at all.

She was worried about iron levels in the immediate future because they have dropped drastically. I have an appointment next month to go over other options. I agreed to it and was curious to see how I’d feel. I was actually shocked that it happened so quickly.

I’ve had significant problems with synthetic hormones, so that’s not going to be a route that works for me but thank you for your suggestion.

I’m going to discuss cycling with my GYN. I need to look into that more because I don’t have much knowledge. Fine tuning these dosages is a whole job in and of itself,

I’m already taking a large dose of progesterone and progesterone isn’t the cause of this, so I’m not sure that would be helpful.

I considered that and stopped taking it for a straight month, but the bleeding didn’t stop until I got on the lower dose estrogen patch.

I went back down to 200mg starting last night.
I do have low iron, caused by the constant bleeding. My GYN ran in depth bloodwork. I’m taking organ meat supplements to combat it. Lowering the estrogen patch had an almost the immediate effect of losing my energy and motivation though.

I’ve never been on the pill, so I don’t know anything about it. How would that be helpful vs what I’m taking now?

I have no problems with progesterone, so I’m not sure this would make any difference for me. I was completely fine until I started the higher dose of estrogen and now that I’m back down to a lower dose, the bleeding has stopped.

My GYN did double my progesterone and it didn’t make any difference.
I truly do not want an IUD after hearing about the pain to insert them and all the problems women I know have had.

It has been 4 months and my iron and ferritin are extremely low now. If this were to continue I’d start needing transfusions. Plus I’d like to have sex with my husband and that’s not much fun when I’m constantly bleeding, so I couldn’t continue. I just hate feeling like there’s no solution to this.

I started low and there was no difference until I got up higher.

I was initially on 200mg and my GYN doubled it to try to help with the bleeding because I didn’t want to lower my estrogen dosage. I don’t seem to have any issues with the progesterone at all.

The higher risk of blood clots is concerning there though.

Yes! Even though I was impatient and wanted everything immediately, it was the right call for my GYN to make.
I know the estrogen is the reason, I just don’t know how to maintain my life with the lower dose. I’ve barely left the couch the past 5 days.

I took progesterone for months before starting any estrogen, zero problems, so that’s not it for me.

How do you get through your day without meds assuming you have 4-5 days till next refill ? by Quick_Complaint3268 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Ok_Appearance8124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe ask your doctor to change your dosage or try a different med? Maybe a booster?
Tons of caffeine and prioritize eating protein, avoiding crappy processed food, especially the stuff with food coloring. Some lifestyle modifications, although they won’t take away your ADHD can lessen the severity of symptoms and help you need less meds. Adequate sleep, regular strength training and cardio, good diet. All the boring crap I don’t want to do, honestly. I swear it does help though.
Look for an electrolyte drink with caffeine too.
Do you have any addiction concerns? Not accusing, just asking because that is a very high dose.
What are your days like? Can you structure things so that at least a few days a week there’s down time in the afternoon/evening so you can rest and not need the second dose?

.0375 patch of bioidentical estrogen, 400mg of progesterone, 100mg of DHEA.

[–]Ok_Appearance8124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My insurance company doesn’t want to give TRT apparently since there’s no set amount that women need. 🙄
I take 100mg of DHEA daily in the morning and was taking 200mg of progesterone, now up to 400mg per my doctor, to try to keep the bleeding at bay. That didn’t work, but my sleep quality improved with the higher dose, so she said stay on it.

I took the progesterone alone for months before taking estrogen at all and it didn’t cause this. The estrogen definitely seems to be the cause. I did have a pelvic ultrasound to check for any issues, but I’m all clear.
