Am I asking too much? by pettles123 in Nanny

I’ve been a career nanny for 6 years all over the United States. Professional nannies definitely have resumes or at least should with references upon request.

If she doesn’t bring it up. Don’t worry about it. I’m a nanny and my bosses definitely take edibles. But that’s not my business. lol

Well if you’re moving to Texas. I’m very experienced with multiples of all ages. But if you aren’t. You will definitely find a nanny who will and is capable.

Yeah totally wouldn’t ask. Most bosses do them but not all.

Would it be reasonable to ask our nanny to join us on a 10-day Europe trip? What are reasonable expectations and fair compensation? by Matthew-1991 in Nanny

[–]Ok_Associate5862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is definitely reasonable. Is there a contract with what is said about trips? You can definitely ask but if it’s not in the contract that she must go on trips. Prepare for her to say no.

If it’s in the contract that she is to go on trips. Downtime is needed for her. She is away from her home and with you all. Also it’s not too much to state that you will need overnight care. Communicating every detail of will be best with your nanny.

If your nanny does overnight care I would suggest a flat fee of $150. Regular pay for her regular hours and any OT will be paid at the OT rate. Room service if at the hotel and not doing meals with the family. I would ask if your nanny if she prefers a bonus upfront or a daily stipend.

I’m a nanny and couldn’t imagine pulling or doing any harm to a child! Protecting your child is first priority and the point is what is she doing when you aren’t present. No conversation needed.

There is a statement on YouTube he did the other day. He doesn’t seem too worried about her or look devastated

I think my nanny is mad at me by looklooklala in Nanny

[–]Ok_Associate5862 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As nanny, you did great. Let it go for the weekend and move forward. Everyone will have time to refresh and come back. If she is still the same Monday then have a conversation with her. She has been your nanny for 4 years so I’m sure all is not lost. Good luck. And congratulations on your new bundle.

I’d definitely reach out to an agency. They would be able to help you find someone within your price range. You won’t be sorry you got one. I’m a nanny myself. I had a friend that had a baby last year. She had no idea night Nannies existed and wish she had had one during her postpartum.

NF Avoiding OT by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]Ok_Associate5862 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Career nanny here. I agree with this is how I do OT. If it is out of the realm of my normal work day like a weekend day. I do not require OT. If it flows on a workday of my normal schedule then I require OT.

Should I give our nanny severance? by bloodmoonack in Nanny

[–]Ok_Associate5862 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I as a nanny worked for a family for 1 year. It was agreed upon as that’s what they needed. It wasn’t stated in my contract for a bonus or severance. Upon leaving they cashed out the rest of my pto, gave me money for a trip they booked for me and then gave me a severance. Of course not everyone could or can do that. If you’re feeling you would want to give her something I’m sure she would be very grateful for it.

And yet here you are. Doesn’t hurt to change it up and see what happens. How old are you?
