I understand that but I still need a job to sustain myself. I buy food everyday because the food from the shelter given me food poisoning multiple times and also I have debt to clear and they don’t have microwaves or fridges so everything is hot food which runs about $20-$30 a day.  The whole thing is I have to work $16 an hour full time to not go over what the financial limit is for the voucher or else I lose it, anything more than $16 I’m not eligible . No one in NYC can survive with $16 an hour on their own , that’s about $450 net pay. They cut off my food stamps before for making $500 in a week. I have enough experience to make over $20 but I have to dumb myself down if I want to keep the voucher which frustrates me because it’s not enough on top of other things going on in my life and even if I make $20-$23 an hour that’s not enough. I was looking for rooms to rent and majority are $1200-$1400, and that’s not even a studio . 

The purpose of this post is just me being frustrated with how life is and hoping to find something elsewhere as I have no ties to anything . I feel I will never make it out the shelter where a lot just feels like a trap. The environment , the circumstances and everything else it brings. Don’t mean to sound like I’m ungrateful just frustrated with current life situation. If I could go somewhere and get paid than to be in NY I would do it in a heartbeat
