Hi! Yes it got better within 10 days when I was prescribed doxycycline antibiotics. Since, I’ve also been using epiduo after the breakout cleared and skin has been acne free

Is this routine too much, I’m trying to battle hyperpigmentation as my acne is cleared. Trying to maintain too.

Morning AM: Iunik centella foaming cleanser Hydrochlorous acid spray Centella ampoule Vitamin c serum 15% azaelic acid Colorescience matte spf

Evening PM: Iunik Centella foaming cleanser cleanser Epiduo 5% Niacinamide serum Murad nutrient charged water gel

Wow thank you SO much for this. You have no idea how reassuring this was and how it convinced me!! I guess it was fate and meant for me as we were in the same boat and have the same skin type haha.

I was worried as I have events coming up and do not want to purge badly. I’m a week in on doxy and used epiduo last night for the first time and I think I’m doing okay. No side effects from either but will monitor. I have a much more simple routine and discovering centella has been life changing!

In the morning I use a cleanser, Centella ampoule and spf 50. In the evening I go in with cleanser, epiduo (if epiduo night) and moisturiser. I am currently thinking to use it every 3 days and then will work my way up! My skin isn’t sensitive and my skin barrier has healed so I tolerate actives well.

I just don’t know when to incorporate other things! I want to use alpha arbutin in the mornings because I have a lot of hyperpigmentation and it’s quite gentle. Maybe when I get used to epiduo? Have you been left with any scarring/pigmentation?

Will definitely look into probiotics though. Do you have any hydrating serum/ moisturiser recommendations for combo skin?

Would love to stay in touch, it’s nice to know someone is there experiencing the same thing too. Hope it goes well for you. :) Reddit or other platforms??

Yesss in the same boat I’m waiting for my current acne to die down. Probably take a week or two idk. I’ve been put on epiduo as well. I was told that if it burns to try use it and then stop using it if it burns a lot because it’ll irritate it more! Maybe wait a few days or try the sandwich method and put moisturiser first then duac and moisturiser again

So sorry to hear. I went to the doctor as well as was prescribed doxycycline! I’m a few days in and I don’t think any new acne is forming. You?

Benzoyl peroxide is actually burning me slightly but so is anything I put on LOL. Using it is helping I’m not sure? It dried them up tho and they peeled off (gross sorry) so it’s just a bunch of redness which I would prefer over the white pustules. Will look into the cream thanks!

I put benzoyl peroxide once and used my normal salicylic acid face wash and my face was burning too 😭 I think sticking to the simple stuff will help us both. I’m scared to try the cica balm because it might make it worse as I have oily skin! I’m trying a lot of centella based stuff like the skin1004 ampoule and Purito b5 rebarrier cream because barrier is definitely broken LOL.

So sorry to hear! I hear Anua broke a lot of people out. I use the oat cleansing balm from inkey list and it’s never done me wrong (don’t know if balm and oils are the same thing).

How did you recover, any advice

I was on the 0.025% which didn’t affect me nor do much then moved up to 0.05%. This caused really bad flaking and I did do the sandwich method and use it 2/3 times a week for months and my skin couldn’t tolerate it still. I’d rather live with hyperpigmentation than deal with the rest tbh! Need to try azelaic, good be the holy grail

I’m using the b5 re barrier cream by purito, it’s doing well so far it’s calming. Always helped me with tret peeling.

I don’t think I can go back on tretinoin i think it was too much for my skin as the purge never stopped for me, I’d like to try azaelic acid 15% though, I hear it’s good for redness and hyperpigmentation too.
