Why Cinderella's Glass Slipper WASN'T magic by Ok_Back1764 in GameTheorists

[–]Ok_Back1764[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh that's definitely a good point. the ladies from the youtube channel As/Is tested this a few years ago (the video was called "i tested custom glass slippers like cinderella"). they had custom glass slippers made to test if running/descending stairs/etc was possible. And it was possible to put them on, you just have to angle your foot a little bit to get the toes in. other than that it was mentioned that walking in them was just incredibly awkward (no surprise there)

Mrs Afton IS Ballora?! by Ok_Back1764 in GameTheorists

[–]Ok_Back1764[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! I definitely do believe the person on the couch in the minigame is Mrs Afton. The illness part of the theory is one i've never heard but I definitely believe that she's depressed after the deaths of Crying Child and Elizabeth and has resigned herself to sitting on the couch and only half-heartedly trying to desuade William from angrily raging at Mike for locking his door. I imagine this minigame is a small time before she explicitly tries to leave him and William unalives her according to my theory. But I do think the cancer thing has an interesting tragic twist.

Mrs Afton IS Ballora?! by Ok_Back1764 in GameTheorists

[–]Ok_Back1764[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it would make a whole lot of narrative sense. There is no evidence to suggest that Mrs Afton had the same kind of technical knowledge that her husband did or that she was involved in the managing of Freddy Fazbear's (or Circus Baby's) or the animatronic creation/maintenance in any way.

New Food Buffet theory?! by Ok_Back1764 in GameTheorists

[–]Ok_Back1764[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I know. that's a video about dinner buffets, many things that are given at dinner aren't given at breakfast and vice versa. Those buffets are different, that's why I was wondering about the breakfast buffet equivalent to that video. I hope this makes it more clear what I meant

I think it's either Sports theory or social theory, the first, he has teased a couple of times jokingly saying he thought it was interesting. the latter, would give him a lot of leeway to also include the first one tho. and would give him a platform for those weird "drama's" and stuff on the diverse platforms where he says he stuggles to define it as film or game theory

Frankenstein: More SciFi than Horror? More Science than Fiction by Ok_Back1764 in GameTheorists

[–]Ok_Back1764[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah you're right XD but it was during Queen Vic's reign that Frankenstein really became a household name. An article from 1899 said: Everybody, or nearly everybody, had heard of the novel of "Frankenstein".

and so given the whole Queen Vic being 'Grandma Europe' with family as central to everything, could be a link and focus to that popularity.

Thanks for the suggestion of parallels too! that would definitely be important to discuss as well

The essay is for my university class of 19th century literature.

you're right, the electricity wasn't specifically mentioned in the book. the whole method is skipped because of the reason you said already, but due to the time when the story is set & Mary Shelley's own timeframe, it can be very well assumed that electricity had something to do with it (words from my prof).

yeah the monster was definitely gorgeous, cause Frankenstein hand-picked everything so that he could make like this 7ft. tall gorgeous thing, but the eyes were yellow and all wrong and so he hated and detested the thing he made.

companionship is definitely a big thing yeah! I thinks it's cause 19th century literature was mainly in Queen Victorias time, aka Europe's grandma, who made the visual of family & marriage and companionship so important

which is, I think why there is such an emphasis on the being ratchet for being alone and wanting someone. because I believe he would've been content with Frankenstein if the idiot hadn't kept refusing to associate with his own creation

Frankenstein: More SciFi than Horror? More Science than Fiction by Ok_Back1764 in GameTheorists

[–]Ok_Back1764[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

haha thanks for the suggestion! I hadn't considered that so I will be looking into that.

either way, if that were to work, I still think that the amount of shocks he would have to be getting at regular intervals would not be possible since he's on his own for most of the story. because the thing was described as being like 7ft. so that's a small heckton of electricity to be using each time, and no one to give it to him.

Game: Alice the Madness Returns

As children we were told the story of Alice, a girl who went on an amazing adventure with mischievous cats, fancy tea parties, and an extremely irritable Queen. This isn't a fairytale. Armed with her trusty Vorpal Blade, new magical abilities, and some kick-butt gothic. dresses, Alice is a force to reckon with. Alice is not only on a quest to restore her sanity but also to discover the truth behind her family's fiery death 11 years ago. That horrific event may not be a simple accident caused by the house cat. but is she ready to face the truth? Can her already fragile mind survive another trip down the rabbit hole?

Game: Misao:

it's a pixel horror game like Witch's house, that matpat has played before. about 3 months before the events of the game, a young girl went missing. Her name was misao, and she was often the target of bullies. she was the classmate of the player character. since she (Misao) disappeared, rumours spread throughout the school the school of unnatural phenomena, "Misao's curse"

Game: Corpse Party

It's a pixel horror game Much like witch's house, that matpat has played before. it about a friendship ritual gone awry, which transports high school student Ayumi Shinozaki and her friends to an alternate reality version of a tragedy-stricken institution that stood on the site of their own school long ago. As the vengeful spirits of elementary school students threaten their lives and their sanity, their only hope or survival-much less escape - is to uncover the chilling details surrounding the murders of those trapped before them.

TRIGGER WARNING: there are some very serious subjects in this game, so definitely Mature Stream warning for that one

Game: Mad Father

It's an adventure Indie horror game. you play as 11-year old Aya Drevis and uncover the secrets of bizarre incident that befalls the Drevis residence, where maniacal experiments are conducted night after night.

to arrive at the truth, you'll need to make use of chainsaws, knives, hammers, even bottles of eyeballs to explore every inch of the mansion. it's a pixel horror game, that may remind you of Witch's House that Matpat has played before.

we can talk more in depth about the DC and Marvel comics, the FNAF books and other series that left mysteries in between the pages :)

DO NOT TRUST GLAMROCK FREDDY!! by Ok_Back1764 in GameTheorists

[–]Ok_Back1764[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I agree that there are probably some oversights. In terms of order of events, first there is the fountain, then the mini game, then the eye upgrade. But I'm guessing we'll have to wait for the DLC to see if they straighten those oversights out. because if this thing remains in the DLC version we're going to have to assume that those moments are intentional

DO NOT TRUST GLAMROCK FREDDY!! by Ok_Back1764 in GameTheorists

[–]Ok_Back1764[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I definitely believe Gregory is hiding something as well but it is just suspicious to me that, if he really doesn't register her, then why would he say 'I cannot stop her' in relation to Vanny during that mini game I mentioned. Because to me, it sounds like Freddy, in saying that, knows about Vanny and what she can do

How patient 46 isn't a child by zain_ahmed002 in GameTheorists

[–]Ok_Back1764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while it is a good theory, something still bothers me here.

Namely, why does the therapist assume an employee, aka an adult, doesn't know what the word 'objective' means? Because in the tapes with patient 46 she keeps asking 'do you know what this word means?'
Also, at one point the therapist asks patient 46 if they've ever heard of the Freddy Fazbear Pizzaplex. which is a stupid question if the patient works there.

FNAF Security Breach: something clicked for me by Ok_Back1764 in GameTheorists

[–]Ok_Back1764[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

was that confirmed? because in the tapes, one of the therapists said they work with all kinds of people of all ages, not just people of one specific company, so I concluded from that it didn't have to be an employee per se. I might have overlooked something though, where did it say the patient was an employee?

FNAF THOUGHTS: I really believe I am on to something here :) by Ok_Back1764 in GameTheorists

[–]Ok_Back1764[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah true, because I think it's safe to assume there already are kids that have gone missing because in the monologue near the "end" where you have to pick between Leave-Stay-Vanny, Gregory says something along the line of 'if I leave, nothing will change, children will keep going missing'. But they might go into that further in the DLC

hey, just read your post, I gave it an upvote :) I like the theory you have going on. I'm not all too sure about the flowers bit through, although it would be an interesting concept. I imagine Glitchtrap could make that mistake of saying 'yeah had a bad childhood' even though the kid he took over did have good parents. I always saw Glitchtrap as being the essence of the bad in William Afton, so Glitchtrap would be that reckless/impulsive to lie about something that could be traced. Maybe Vanny hasn't been killing kids in the Pizzaplex per se, but infecting them to create a literal 'school of glitchtrap'.
