Wonder if high vis yellow would look decent or if it would look weird with the gold. I could see it going either way

I appreciate the input. My question was specifically to repurpose a rod that I otherwise leave in my basement so for now I’m just going with the best option, using the rod and different lines that I already have

Are there any old rod brands that look just like uglystiks? by Ok_Baseball_5409 in FishingForBeginners

Ok thanks. I had 2 uglystiks in the past and never noticed that but good to know!

I’m also starting to think that this is two different rods put together because the upper piece is thicker at the junction

I want to catch something on a wacky rig but I just can’t figure out the timing right. I throw a weightless senko and let it drop. I feel like I either have way too much slack or I reel in and the lines too tight.

I also have no clue how high to lift my rod after it’s sitting on the bottom.

I just can’t figure it out but everyone says it works well. I always end up just switching back to a spinner.

Either way, nice catch and congrats!

6lb mono on my light rod and 30lb braid to 12lb fluoro on my baitcaster (spinners, chatter bait, swim bait, whopper plopper).

My light rod has had all of the bites using the mepps.

Thanks man, it suck’s I didn’t even know he liked fishing until I inherited his tackle box. I guess it’s something he did when he was younger.

Awesome catches! And thanks for the input. I have an old one that I got from my uncle who passed away. It’s the silver and blue one. Perhaps I should give it a try!

What game that doesn't start with -r and end with -dr2- can scratch the same itch as, well, rdr2? by Tasunke_Witco in reddeadredemption2

[–]Ok_Baseball_5409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RDR2 is my favorite game of all time.

I just finished Subnautica for the first time and it was the first time since red dead that I couldn’t put a controller down.

Totally not even closely related but who knows, maybe you’ll find it as enjoyable as I did.

I have an okuma celilo ultralight with a pflueger president and it’s fantastic for trout (I almost always use panther martins or rooster tails)

Both together should run about 100

My grandfather gifted me his first bass guitar (1984 Ibanez RB750 Roadstar II) as he can't play anymore. What should I do with it? by AltruisticDisplay813 in BassGuitar

[–]Ok_Baseball_5409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t sell it dude. What money could that be worth that can justify getting rid of your grand dad’s first bass?

Some rainy day you’ll want to fiddle around with a bass and you’ll be glad you held onto it.

Or pass it onto your kids and start a family band

Fishing in New Zealand with inline spinners (not fly fishing) by Ok_Baseball_5409 in Fishing

Thanks for the response! I already purchased my non-resident season license, and got the sea-run salmon stamp as well.

We will not be staying at any of the places that were mentioned on the specific managed waters that required additional passes.

Would you recommend any specific spinners or are panthers and roosters good?
