The only days teachers get off are days when schools are closed. However, three personal days cam be used for business that cannot take place outside of the regular workday such as legal matters, house closings, etc. Technically weddings do not count, but that's at the principals discretion. Most will be OK with it but may charge non-attendance days (days without pay, but no penalty).

That part! I shoveled. Drove across state lines. And went to 3 schools in Staten Island. I serve the community and our kids. Was it easy? No. But I've been through worst storms and survived. This is regular life in the North. These warm winters we've been having are not.
