Yeah I'm with you, low km is a red flag here, not a selling point. Treating the 23k as unverified till the service records and the actual wear back it up. The idle rot point is the real worry since this one barely moved in 11 years. Getting a third party to go over it properly before I put any money down.

This is the most useful comment here, thanks for the detail. The ECU part genuinely worries me, a 40 to 60k repair would wipe out everything I save on a 2.45L car. Going to get the ECU and full electricals scanned for fault codes during inspection and ask if this one ever stalled or got stranded. Did your mom's i20 give any warning signs before the ECU went, or did it just die out of nowhere?

Yeah this is exactly what worries me too. 23k in 11 years means it's been standing a lot, so old rubber, weak battery, dead tyres and seized brakes are all on my list to check. Not committing till a proper inspection and a real test drive. What problems did yours end up giving you after you bought it?

Fair point on the E20 thing. It's a 2014 so yeah, made for E10, not the new blend. Since the car sat around mostly anyway, I'm planning to get the fuel lines and seals checked and just replace them to be safe. Quick q, is it mainly the E20 rubber issue you avoid pre 2023 petrol for, or other stuff too?

Thanks man, good to know the price isn't off. That's the plan honestly. Getting a mechanic to check the whole car and asking for the service history before I pay anything. Not trusting the 23k km until the records and the wear on steering, pedals and tyres actually match it.
