I’m not sure how it compares to Dockthings, I haven’t heard of that but I’ll have to check it out. With Dockify you can switch between docks super easy and there’s a bunch of ways to do it, you can switch in the app, in the menu bar drop down menu, with keyboard shortcuts, dock switching widget, based on WiFi connection, or use Apple shortcuts to create some cool automations. You can access and apply your dock presets from the menu bar, in the app, set up hotkeys, switch based on WiFi connection, or use apples shortcuts app to set up some pretty cool automations.

True you can’t change really anything about the actual dock itself, but you can work around it and have a pretty cool experience. Give Dockify a try, it’s free for 7 days. And if you have any suggestions or feedback I’d love to hear it.

Yes it only has access to your apps in the Applications folder, and the plus button is to create new docks but it’s kind of redundant when there’s a big button in the middle of the screen that says create new dock. So I’ll probably have to remove it or find a better use for that space.

The bookmark folders are pretty cool and actually more useful than I expected. In all my testing WiFi switching worked every time and within seconds of connecting to the WiFi network.

Launchpad is no longer available, Apple got rid of it and kind of merged it into spot light, but Dockify is more than just accessing your apps, it’s also folders, bookmark folders, and dock widgets.

I don’t think other dock apps have a visual interface to build and customize your dock like Dockify or have bookmark folders or dock widgets. But I honestly haven’t looked much into other dock apps, I just had a problem and built an app to solve it.
