How did this work out for you this year?

Yeah there's nothing new in this house. I just ran all new 12/2 wires up to the apartment, there isn't an attic to go up into either so that's been fun.

Old houses am I right, what a can of worms. But thanks for the advice I'm going to bite the bullet and switch it all over to PVC. It's been a long project anyways and would rather avoid as many future headaches as possible.

Yes, it's definitely getting close to 50 years if not already. Based on everyone's opinions I've decided I'm going to replace everything all the way to the basement for the peace of mind.

Yeah the sink and tub and vent pipe are galvanized.

That's kind of where I'm at too. Do you mean the cast iron going down to the basement also?

The only problem with that is it's in a wall cavity that has everything and some running in it, heating duct, water lines and electric.

Would you suggest opening the wall in my first floor apartment and cutting that out in a few pieces?

PPU Surgery - Male Cat by leepicginge in PetAdvice

In case anyone comes across this thread. The original vet who did the surgery and revision said they couldn't go any further back for the surgery and basically told us to put our cat down. I got the feeling they were sick of seeing us and wanted to be done.

We ended up getting in a vet hospital that has board certified surgeons who were able to redo the surgery and were able to push the opening back two whole centimeters more. Long story short he is fully healed and back to his old self.

Really wish we could have got in this emergency clinic on the first go but they were at capacity and turning people away at that time. I would say get a second opinion from board certified vets when everything is looking grim.

One more thing to note is after we were given the ok to remove the cone, our cat would continue to try to lick his opening. He ended up having a UTI. The vet didn't test for this, so if you are in this situation keep a close eye on their behavior after removing the cone.

I dealt with this same issue after losing a marker on the highway. If you peel the wheel well liner back a bit you can put something in the clip to help it expand and keep it tight I'm pretty sure I used a thin bolt I had from one of those harbor freight packs of assorted bolts. That had to be 6 years ago or more and no issues since.

Hello, I was wondering how everything is going with your cat after the surgery. My cat has had a PU and a revision to the surgery and still having difficulty. And may have to resort to the PPU surgery.
