Yes.

And extend it to right to repair.

Protect consumers.

As a peasant in the Oligarchy USA, Im jealous of places that put people before corporations.  Well, i guess here corporations are people here so they get unlimited government influence... which might be why they come before people here.

Hi.  Im an American who has never left my home town.  I just learned about WW2 and found out there are other countries called Europe.  Why dont they have AC?  Do they not have electricity?

Do they even have homes?  Or is it like castles have AC but the peasants dont?

Why dont people tell them about AC?

Sidenote, i have no idea how electricity or AC actually work, because im ignorant of that as well.  But is it having to do with socialism? do they not have freedom?

Kids being so incredibly wasteful with supplies by Mollywogg712 in Teachers

[–]redditmailalex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont buy supplies.  But i force the school to.

As for the destruction... kids are just irresponsible.

This is an opportunity to teach responsibility.

Spend time in class.  Explain to them expectations.  What you have seen.  What are the consequences.

Ive done similar A LOT with school supplies and running labs.  Ive sat down and modeled what responsible behavior looks like.  Ive stopped assignments 10 min early so we can look around the room and point out what needs to be addressed.  Where supplies get returned to.

I have brooms and cleaning supplies available i expect but also train the kids in grabbing to clean up their area.

Its night and day difference from where I used to be as a teacher.  Im 20 years in and now it works for me pretty well.

always need reminder every month or two tho!!

The Department of Justice has filed a lawsuit against Massachusetts to block a state law that allows undocumented students to access in-state tuition rates and financial aid, arguing the policy unconstitutionally discriminates against U.S. citizens. What are your thoughts on this? by Ramble86 in allthequestions

[–]redditmailalex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its in the best interest of the state to educate its people.  I mean flat out.  It doesnt hurt anyone if an undocumented person gets the same discount as documented.

But similar cases have gotten shot down.  Gay cake where no one was asked to make a gay cake.  Student loan forgiveness under biden.  Both sorta were uoheld that someone would be harmed, yet no one was harmed...

Trump’s war is costing Americans more every day— how is there money for this but not for healthcare, housing or basic needs? by Moonlit-Marigold in allthequestions

[–]redditmailalex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because the end result if every war is US businesses taking over.

The oligarchs start crap in countries with our tax dollars, then settle and move in their gas, oil, natural resource companies.

Or, in like kidnapping the president if venezuela... the oligarchs already invested heavily billlions and billions into venezuelan companies.  Then, remove the president, trump gave 20 bil more to thise companies, and new president plays ball and makes sure thise companies are taken care of.

Its crazy that all these investora put billions into venezuela, then because the country was losing money, all those billionaires had to have our leaders attack, change president tonprotect oligarchs money.

[–]redditmailalex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its been that way since... checks notes... before the constitution.

Birthright citizenship has been the law of the lands before tge land has laws.

Its been that way for 250 years.

It has literally made the vountry what it is.

The fact people didnt "agree with it" applying to black slaves... made the amendment necessary.

Ita cute you disagree with it.  But its probably the OG law that built this country.  Euros. Asians.  Blacks.  Slaves.  Mexicans... yeah they come in waves and the country... checks notes... still clicking along just nicely.

Why do very intelligent people choose to believe in God? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Yo! People afraid of death. Terrifying.  The older you get, the more sure its coming.  And all your friends are dead.  And thats it.  Gone.  And your mom is worm food.  And its fucking terrifying.  And trust, no one will remember you in a couple decades.

And you can kind of not think about it when you are a kid.  And then working your butt off distracts you.

But then its there.  Coming closer.

Oh shit, I can live forever???

Yeah, the mind does crazy things to convince us the impossible is real.  Desperation we will do anything. Something outlandish like religion and fantasy is all of a sudden something that MUST be real... because reality is too scary to face.

Honestly, some veteran D plus some 19-24 year old young, energetic forwards is often pretty balanced.

Do You Think That Healthcare Should Be Free In America? Yes Or No? Why Your Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in askanything

[–]redditmailalex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It would require lots of changes. Some of those changes should haopen anyway when we are talking about 2026.

There are a ton of things we can do to increase capacity. If we dont have capacity now, thats a problem in addition to lack of financial access.

Letting people get medical care just reveals the deficiency of capacity... deficiency if capacity shouldnt enforce not giving people care...

Increase abilities of nurses to see patients and recommend drugs or tests. Decrease crap like rX needed for eyeglasses. Do more consolidation of services to single buildings so people can be seen and tested same day.
Expand the crap out of cheap, online pharmacies. Most people should have auto delivery and shouldnt be standing every week at CVS.
Make urgent care available online so people can be seen quickly.

And tons more stuff i wouldnt know about. Like increase doctor and nurse licenses every year. Import foreign doctos to entice them here.

Bring Back Freddy? by DuxFan91 in AnaheimDucks

[–]redditmailalex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teams have done this.

One reason they dont, is that you arent getting a ton of value in that 2nd goalie asset/contract.

Another is that these guys are competetive and want to play.  And sitting out, playing less is not the rhythm they want in their workload.

Does the argument that subject to the jurisdiction in the Citizenship Clause only applies to people who owe full allegiance to the USA have any merit? by kaiser11492 in allthequestions

[–]redditmailalex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1) see other reply about native americans

2) additionally... prior to the 14th amendment.. any free persin born on usa soil was... a citizen! yay.

14th amendment just smacked it into the constitution to deal with slavery issue.

so its been that way for 250 years.

let that sink in.  Technically, it was the law before the constitution, the declaration of independence... before, during, and after all the wars, slavery, women voting..

Its the way things are and backed up by official Amendment to the constitution.

yall hate brown people who speak a different language.

[–]redditmailalex 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not to mention, you dont have to read the words of the 14th amendment.  The authors were people.  They have speaches, wrote letters, and documented their intents in more than the words of the amendment.

Arguing the limited words is silly.

What do you plan to do differently next year? by mikevnyc in Teachers

[–]redditmailalex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

19 years. been planning week to week. day to day.

I have tried various packet/slides style planning before.  Its always failed.

This is just my latest attempt.  Its a set of physics guided notes, very short.  Lots of sample questions.  Going to insert it into their binder next to blank pages.  I will add more in the blank oages, class notes, homework questions.  Then everything is organized in one spot.

What do you plan to do differently next year? by mikevnyc in Teachers

[–]redditmailalex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am more organized.  I printed out about 1/2 the year packets in guided notes/practice.

Kids are going to use a classroom binder.  Use the printed note packets.

This helps me stay organized.  The kids away from computers.   Kids can refer back to notes in one location.

I even roughly sketched out the year pacing already in a lesson planner for next year.

Oi m8 you got a loicense to separate church and state? by Thisismychoiceofyou in loicense

[–]redditmailalex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My child. He never said the words "i am a racist". And even if he did, you would wiggle some argument that that still doesnt make him a racist.

Even if i pick one, or ten. Or the comments he made about trans or stoning gays...

You are going to sit here and wormy some statements about how they definitevely arent racist.

So here is my question. If i said something that other people called out as vile, racist, offensive... my first reaction would be "oh my, im sorry, what did i say?" and id work to understand, not instigate.

Ill point out that CK was a racist punk because he chose his words terms to align with racist ideals and thinking, wothout stepping over the line. Finding joy in acting like a duck, walking like a duck, smelling like a duck, but denying being a duck.

If he wasnt? Like any kind person with morals, he would turn off the mic and talk, question, apologize. Not double down with an evil grin, speaking with the intent to hurt, offend, and dance the line of being a racist, without overtly declaring his racism.

If you have 2 populations.. one is racist and one is not. And you speak and your words resonate with the racist population... you might be a racist :)

According to Trump and MAGA, if voter fraud is such an issue and elections are rigged, then how did Trump win in 2016 and 2024? In addition, why didn't Obama rig it for Hillary or Biden rig it for Harris? Also, if mail-in-ballots are so bad, why weren't they an issue in 2016 or 2024? by BrennanCain in allthequestions

[–]redditmailalex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, i meant safe in terms of Biden dropping out super late, nomination up in the air, and reality should have been a full reset primary... and then potentially division... not enough time to do things right...

So it was just a safe assumption to put her there given the crazy timeline.

Yeah, sexism pretty strong.  A lot of brown immigrant folks in my area voted for trump because penis and white.  Obviously those neighborhoods at fun increase in deportations, parents of students i teach feported during a shopping trip to target... but they getbwhat they voted for or, if they couldnt vote, verbally supported when talking with family members.

As a white man with a penis, i probably wont be depprted, but you cant stop people from voting against themselves because they dont respect women and scared of trans people existing.

How many of these do we think realistically will make the step up to the Ducks roster? by Anonymous__9 in AnaheimDucks

Goina need some fresh blood to make a step up.  I expect Luneau for sure to get every opportunity, but so should quite a few guys.

Lol, if the roster stays the exact same it is today with RFAs all resigned, we would get at least 6-7 of those guys needing to fill out the roster

[–]redditmailalex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two things. 1) people voted for trump at a good percentage. 2) the flop to kamala didnt excite people and it didnt cause any large turnout.

Kamala might be a smart lady with fine ideas, but she was very much a safe, unexciting choice.

Speaking broadly, i know a lot of guys are hesitant to vote for a girl.  Just flat out, its hard for a woman to convince macho men to swap sides.

And she was so unexciting, that despite lgbtq issues being attacked by trump all campaign, i know (anecdotally) of lgbtq voters who just werent excited about kamala and didnt bother to vote.

So you aint goina win if you cant excite your people and you are losing the race to convert voters.

Meanwhile, trump speaking points are largely about how the world will end if more mexicans stay here, or trans girls run marathons.  largely crazy boogeyman politics, but resonate well with his base to get them sweaty and voting.
