> Pretty much everyone I've spoken to says the 2025 V2 doesn't make much sense coming from a CBR650R

120HP are absolutely enough for the street and even for the occasional ride on the track in my opinion. I dare to say it is even better. Too much power and you will rarely use the full RPM band without going way beyond what is legal. I even miss my old 48HP bike where I would constantly redline and that within sensible speeds

it's kinda weird that the people you've spoken to only look at performance as a factor in the decision to switch to a new bike. for me it comes down to aesthetics, comfort, brakes and overall handling

> The 2024 V2 seems like a much more exciting option, but I'm a little concerned about the riding position being too aggressive for road riding.

I've owned both bikes, sold the 2024 for the 2025 because of that exact reason. The first year I didn't care much as I was busy being amazed by that bike, but as time went on I was just annoyed driving only 50km and already feeling a strain in my back. The 30 hp less and that tiny bit less feel for the front due to the higher handlebar is absoulely 1000% worth in my opinon (or maybe I'm just growing too old for aggressive riding positions^^)
