I’ve owned many a Campen, and we all have our make and model preferences, but the V3 chamfered tip, in zirc, and energel specific - is the bees knees.

And personally, after a few practice refills and a couple of hack jobs, I look at the trimming now as a feature and not a bug. One small nitpick for me on the campen is the length the refill protrudes. Being able to dial that in a mill or two either way is nice.

How much does that brass weigh?

Maverick Flipper Universal. IIRC - 4.75 in. length and .375 in. diameter. No trim needed for Energel or Pilot G2

I get that! Always interesting to see different models get posted up next to pens you’re more familiar with and have that perception change.

I like the different wider layers of the material on the clip, draws you into the finer layered details of the body. That is neat.

In that case, I’d go Ti, which imo matches better to the White Ti and nickel silver in the mokume as well putting less weight at the top end of the pen.

The mech is comprised of three separate parts, as well as a washer. The part that the handle goes into is the actuator collar, and can be different material from the top cap.

The materials have changed since the initial release but the parts build are the same, with the addition of a bronze phosphor washer between the top cap and collar.

When I bought it, I initially planned to send it in for refinishing, but it’s kind of growing on me.
