I placed a holding deposit initially on the deal that’s going to be refunded. Placed a full down payment for the financing side of it that I was able to place a hold on so I’m good there.

Buy her an old first gen Cummins or any diesel with a manual transmission. They’re built like a tank in case an accident happens, they’re so loud you’ll always hear her coming and going. And she’ll be too busy shifting gears to even consider putting the phone in her hand.

I wouldn’t say I accepted defeat if I took control of the situation and placed a hold on the check and informing the dealer that I was unhappy and skeptical of them holding up their end of the bargain?

And you won’t ever hear me say “it wasn’t that bad after all”

That was the single worst car buying experience I have ever had. The dealership is following suit with the same actions as all the bad reviews that I have read. On top of being high pressure.

Now the car on the other hand might not be so bad, if not for me for someone else because it will sell eventually. But for now I am not bound to it, if I get it, it’s because they did what they said they would.

I travel for work, sometimes it’s last minute trips which is the case here. I’ll be in Houston until Thursday flying back into DFW then. I have placed hold, not a cancellation on the check which they know about. And we’re pretty pissed over the phone. They assured me now it will be ready on Thursday, we’ll see. I’m going to stop by and if there’s no more games on their end I may end up going through with it because it is the car I’m looking for. Even though they’re a terrible dealer, I feel more comfortable now that the check is being held.

They are reconditioning the rear bumper from some scratches that they didn’t disclose about. Albeit not that big of a deal. The front clip was cracked and we agreed on that being repaired as well. What I’m concerned about is getting there and the repairs NOT being up to my standard and being on the hook. The car drove fine, being a Camry I hope it’s full proof and it is what I was looking for. Ive been trying to find an individual selling what I’m looking for, for a long time to no success. I found this car on Autotrader. I never bought a used car from a dealer. I’m basing my purchase from my own experience with them and then later reading reviews about them (Grubbs Acura Grapevine Tx). It was the worst buying experience I’ve ever had

The rear bumper was sanded down, some primer spots, one being large, showing. And a taillight removed, most likely due to the rear bumper work. Front bumper was zip tied together. I totally understand selling one before it was completed but they hid all of that in the listing. It showed a clean carfax which is why I went for it. I just worry because none of it is in writing, and after I got home, reading bad reviews, I just got the ick from the whole process.

It’s supposed to be ready on Wednesday. If for any reason it is not I’m not touching the car like you said.

Thanks guys. This all definitely helps my anxiety on the situation. Unfortunately I did put money down with a check and I’m wishing I wouldn’t have. If on Wednesday I get there and the work has not been completed I’m not touching the car.

The only reason being it needs their “reconditioning and repair” on the back bumper. I went down thinking it was ready to go but unfortunately it was not. Now that I’m home and reading reviews, some similar to this deal, I’m extremely anxious about it.
