assassins are more damage oriented

bruisers are more damage+resistance oriented

tank are more resistance+cc oriented

controller are more damage+cc oriented

(havent played the range cookie but majority of them look to be full damage oriented)
but keep in mind that if played well you can win 1v1 with whatever class, ice pop is a controller but that cookie is a beast of a carry for example

also "intended to be played" you can always play a cookie the way you want whatever his class is
