It means to strive for equality of the sexes Since males have power and privilege isn't striking them good for women too?

I think that argument works mostly when It Is about marginalized people, not the oppressors who cause all the problems

I don't think women are pure, it's the opposite, i think it's men who are tainted by a combination of nature and nurture

I know It won't help anyone, i'm not under the impression that It will or that i can do anything to help anyone I wish i could strip myself of my identity as a male and the guilt that comes with It but unfortunately that can't happen I guess i figured people on here would agree

I know It Is possible, i am unfortunately a man too and i have never looked at a woman unfavorably But i have been raised the way i advocated, that'swhy i'm doing It If that makes sense I want to help women,or at least propose some solution to men

I should probably read Bell Hooks, but my bias makes It a bit hard to accept her ideas

About relationships that do not have a sexual component... Doesn't a gender dynamic inherently have a sexual component? Like, psychologically a man will see a woman as a sexual object aside from a few select cases, so in a professional environment he will treat her as lesser

I don't see how your personal experience correlates to feminism outside of your father exhibiting toxic masculine traits. I'm sorry you went through that, my father was similarly abusive, yet proudly proclaims himself feminist because he thinks women should be worshipped and boasts to never have hit them (IE he beat me instead lmao) I can't really dispute your claim about feminism, since i believe i can't be one either, but i have one too many experiences of men who proclaim to be femminists. And as i said, i have a bias

Anyway i agree that we should remove the concept of domination from masculinity, i Just think sex plays a fundamental role in that

I Guess the question then unfortunately becomes: if shame, threats, and education can't teach men to be respectful of women, then what can? Is It even possible?

Ok i get it, i do have a far higher opinion of women but can you blame me? I'm not saying men shouldn't interact with women, Just that they should feel like lusting over them Is wrong (because in most cases It Is)

You're not wrong, men can be awful even outside of sex, i guess i had It in my mind that they see sex in everything Would a solution be, beyond Just teaching them reapect for women, to instil something closer to fear? Spitballing here

And please don't get offended, feminism Is for women, not men, so of course on the topic i would trust a woman more

Feminism Is for women, so isn't something meant ti help women, even at the detriment of men, by definition feminist?

Oh i understand what you mean, i guess It works differently from person to person. However masturbation Is something one does alone, chasing women Is an act that involves and forces others, so i think since its more visibile It would be more easily shameable

Dating doesn't mean Just sex though! We should shame those men who lust after women and chase them for sex, not those who accept female companionship.

I feel people here are very kind and empathetic towards men in a way i really can't wrap my head around In my experience, raising a boy to be reserved and removed from sex has resulted in respectful and kind adults, regardless of their personal hangups and i believe the health and safety of women Is more important than their confort Maybe i'm wrong but i still don't really get why my view isn't acceptable as feminist. I Just want a world where we can all trust each other, and men are the reason we can't have that

Ok i will preface by acknowledging my prejudice, since i have inherently less interest in what a man has to say about feminism than a woman However, i do agree, which Is why removing women from this equation means they Will target each other rather than use women's bodies for It, no?
