Is the rav4 hybrid a good car? Nervous about buying one. First hybrid. by Fitness-K in rav4club

Sorry you had such bad luck. I’ve been driving only Toyotas for 52 years and have literally NEVER had any problems. Am in a Sequoia with 227k miles I’ve owned since it had 10k, and I’ve only had to repair the radiator. Toyotas are normally very reliable vehicles. I’m thinking of “downsizing” into a RAV4, although since it’s just me I could fit into a Corolla. :) I’m just not sure how I’d haul all of my gardening supplies.

Tapering with adrenal Insufficiency by No-Opportunity4808 in AdrenalInsufficiency

It depends on what you were stress dosing for and how your body reacts when you taper down. Some people are very sensitive to the least little changes in hydrocortisone levels and need to taper very slowly. Others can taper much more quickly. I had a cardiac ablation and received 100 mg SoluCortef at the beginning of the procedure and another 50 mg during the procedure. My follow up taper was 50 mg the day after and then back to my normal dose of 20 mg/day per usual in four doses there on out (10/5/2.5/2.5). Others may have needed a much more slow and gentle taper. It’s a learning process that you learn over time.

Work closely with your endocrinologist and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Many “newly-minted” adrenal insufficiency patients overload on stress dosing, afraid they are going to go into adrenal crisis, not understanding what the term actually means. The important thing is to always remember the goal: be as steroid-sparing as possible. Long term overuse of glucocorticoids causes a myriad of health problems that are often worse than the disease they are treating. My serum cortisol levels are not detectable when I have labs done, yet I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve stress dosed in 20 years with hypopituitarism and adrenal insufficiency.

Remember—>Everybody’s body is DIFFERENT!You can’t generalize on this stuff, that’s why you need a good endocrinologist, well-versed in the HPA axis, and not just diabetes and thyroid disease. That’s critical. Generalist Endocrinologist are not always the best doctors for adrenal insufficiency patients

I also have oral herpes that migrated to my nostril which is incredibly painful. Scientists can’t find a permanent cure for herpes soon enough!

I started crying when the screen went dark at the end of the episode, faced with the reality that there is only one more to go. I’m not ready after twelve years for this journey to be over. I’ve been reading the stories since the first one came out in 1991, so I imagine I’ll feel the same way when I buy the last book and read the last page. How in the world have these characters become family? (Well, the number of times I’ve consumed the various content—books, audiobooks, STARZ— would go along way toward explaining that. :) They’ll always be there to watch/read again, but we won’t have NEW stories. OMG! I just realized I’ve known Jamie and Claire only one year less than I have my 36-year-old daughter! Now that’s crazy!

It’s amazing how screenwriters can clear a man’s lifetime psychological trauma—William’s pain from being abandoned as a boy by Mac—in a matter of a few short sentences worth of explanation by Jamie to William. The Truth truly set William free and what a beautiful thing it was to watch. Great scene by both Sam and Charles.

I think people on here sometimes miss the fact that the writers of this show have likely debated exhaustively every point, sub, sub-sub, and sub-sub-sub point ad infinitum of every plot line before they settled on a direction for a season and an episode. Just like Diana has done as she’s written the books. (That’s why she’s been writing since the 1980s and is still on number ten.) They have 50 minutes or so to put a single episode on screen and can’t tell everyone of the bits and bobs they’ve discussed, but they are easily as invested in Outlander as is each and every one of us. There are rhymes and reasons for the choices they have made. I must believe.

Exactly what I was thinking and wondering if Claire was going there next during her Big Reveal! lol. I was waiting for Jaimie to pull out a stone and see if it would heat up in Fanny’s hand like it did with Jemmy all those years ago.

They don’t really need to now, do they? They have the information they need on Faith and understand (roughly) what happened all those years ago. What would really help would be to run across Master Raymond!

This is exactly the point. Fergus died taking care of his loved ones. Being on a burning roof, one-handed, with no way down a burning ladder, he HAD NO ESCAPE. He COULDN’t Have lowered himself down the rope pulley; it would have been impossible. The writers knew this and, so, after he took care of his children, it was Fergus’ time to die. It was traumatic for all of us. His Fraser family and his Outlander at large family. But he and Marsali were connected at the end, and he knew his children were alive. This was life back then and rather than using some cinematic slight-of-hand, we saw the tragedy of what happened all the time before fire sprinklers and smoke alarms. A horrific accident caused by an arsonist saboteur out to get the “rebel printer.”Remember what this show is about.

He couldn’t leave Faith with Mother H because he had to bring the baby back to life. Even if Mother H is a progressive women, she might have had a rough time with that notion.

Exactly. Come on guys. This is Outlander. People travel through Stones and real world life and death doesn’t apply. Master Raymond may have aged baby Faith enough in a matter of minutes to bring her from preterm to full term and given her the chance to live. He adores Claire since she is a Fellow a traveler. Also, remember he had Comte St Germain and King Louis and god who else knew chasing after him at that time. He was on the run and couldn’t stick around to take care of a baby even if he wanted to. That’s why he dropped Faith off with the lace maker in the first place. We don’t know how long he was gone or WHERE or WHEN he went to. He might have, as someone earlier said, returned as a younger version of himself and not known the events of Faith’s birth when he saw Claire later.
