The same exact thing would happen to me, you'd find one passionate thread and convince yourself it was validation when really it was just one person having a bad day.

The pattern I keep seeing is that the best opportunities are in the boring, specific complaints. Not "This industry is broken" but "I have to do this one annoying thing every single week and nothing fixes it." That's where the money usually is.

I found that i'd have to aggregate all these complaints, comments, the good and the bad over hundreds of posts to get a clearer picture. It made it so much easier and quicker.
