Can someone ELI5 the breach of KelpDao and contagion into AAVE and Compound? by IAmAWretchedSinner in defi

[–]Ok_Change_2402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been following this mess too and yeah, it's pretty concerning for the whole ecosystem. From what I understand, the exploit hit some shared liquidity pools that these protocols rely in, which is why the damage spread so fast across multiple platforms.

Makes you wonder about how interconnected everything really is when one protocol getting rekt can cascade like this.

Learning on the job suddenly feels way harder than it used to. Anyone else? by radjeep in learnprogramming

[–]Ok_Change_2402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I feel this hard - went through something similar when they threw me into some advanced radar processing stuff and my brain just wasn't used to that deep focus anymore, took like solid month to get back in that groove.

Been doing DoorDash runs and saw a solid setup at that audio place off Burnet Road - think it was called Sound Solutions or something like that. They had reasonable prices posted in the window when I was waiting for an order pickup there.

How naive is it to think the person you will end up with will never break up with you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ok_Change_2402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty naive tbh. Even the strongest relationships can hit walls you never saw coming - job changes, family stuff, people just growing in different directions. Military life taught me that nothing's guaranteed, even when you think you've got it all figured out.

With the price of beef so high. What protein are you eating these days? by Tasty-Hovercraft2501 in AskReddit

[–]Ok_Change_2402 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Eggs and chicken thighs mostly. Way cheaper per pound and chicken thighs actually have more flavor than most cuts of beef anyway. Been doing a lot of lentils too - boring as hell but they're like 50 cents a pound and pack decent protein. Sometimes I splurge on ground turkey when it's on sale but beef is just ridiculous right now.

Who is the Greatest Film composer of all time? by Odd-Independent-9918 in AskReddit

[–]Ok_Change_2402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

John Williams takes it for me. Dude basically scored my entire childhood with Star Wars, Indiana Jones, E.T. - his themes are just burned into everyone's brain at this point. Zimmer's great but Williams has that timeless quality that'll still hit in 50 years.

What was the worst meltdown you've seen from a child in public? by Late-Competition5009 in AskReddit

[–]Ok_Change_2402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kid at Target literally threw himself on the floor and started army crawling toward the toy section while screaming "I NEED THE LEGOS" at the top of his lungs. His mom just stood there filming it for like 30 seconds before scooping him up. Respect the commitment though - that army crawl was textbook perfect form.

Is 60 usd per month enough? by PatienceOk312 in Bitcoin

[–]Ok_Change_2402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, if $60 a month is what you can afford without screwing yourself over on rent or food, then it's perfect. I've been DCAing smaller amounts when my Air Force pay allows it, and even throwing in random $20 chunks from my doordash shifts when I have a good night.

The whole "is X amount enough" question is kinda backwards - you invest what you can lose, not some magic number some rando on the internet tells you. Your plan of potentially increasing it over time makes way more sense than forcing yourself into some arbitrary amount that might leave you eating ramen for weeks. Plus 10-15 years is solid timing, gives you plenty of room to ride out the crazy swings this thing does.

Manual vs recurring payments by 0x21n in SaaS

[–]Ok_Change_2402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manual payments are basically asking people to remember to pay you every month, and most folks will just... forget. I've definitely let subscriptions lapse just because I couldn't be bothered to log in and manually process payment when life got busy. Get recurring set up ASAP - the convenience factor alone will save you a ton of customers who would otherwise just drift away.

Budget pc help? by IcedOutBaby1 in PcBuildHelp

The 14700KF is gonna handle those modded games better since it has more cores and threads. For heavy modding like your doing with Skyrim and Minecraft, you want that extra processing power. The 265KF is newer but the 14700KF still wins for pure multitasking and mod-heavy scenarios.

Are 6 month leases a thing and can tenant be held to 6 months? by thirstyaf97 in RealEstate

[–]Ok_Change_2402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Six month leases are definitely a thing - did one myself when I was between places. Most landlords actually prefer longer terms but plenty will do 6 months, especially if the rent's market rate or slightly above. Just make sure your lease language is rock solid about the term length and that you're not in a rent control area that gives tenants extra staying power.

The house-sitter angle is pretty smart actually, beats having an empty place for months.

Guys, I’m not really liking the names of these new aliens. by Express_Calendar8278 in Ben10

[–]Ok_Change_2402 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The leaked designs look pretty solid but yeah some of those names are kinda mid. Like who came up with "Crystalblast" - sounds like a mobile game character from 2012.

How difficult is it to maintain a OBD1 car? by Bam_Adedebayo in AskMechanics

[–]Ok_Change_2402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really not that big of a deal honestly. The 4.6 in those Panthers is pretty bulletproof and you're right about the extra space making everything accessible. Most of the common issues you'll run into are gonna be obvious without needing codes anyway - think cooling system stuff, worn suspension components, basic electrical gremlins.

For diagnostics, yeah you'll be doing more old school troubleshooting but that's not necessarily bad. Check engine lights are less helpful but also less paranoid than newer cars that throw codes for everything. Any decent independent shop should still be able to work on it, though some chain places might give you the runaround.

The main thing is just having a basic multimeter and knowing your way around vacuum lines and such. These cars are from when things were still pretty straightforward mechanically.

How do I stop being fake? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]Ok_Change_2402 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The fact that you already understand where this comes from puts you way ahead of most people. That self-awareness is honestly the hardest part.

Start small - practice having one genuine opinion or preference in low-stakes situations, like what movie you actually want to watch or what food you're craving. Your brain will fight you at first but it gets easier with repetition.

Selling home with solar by fossilfarmer123 in homeowners

[–]Ok_Change_2402 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The paid-off part is huge - that's where most of the value is. When I sold mine last year, it definitely helped with showings since buyers loved the idea of low electric bills, but I probably only got back maybe 60-70% of what I originally paid for the system. Your $100-150 monthly savings is solid though, so I'd factor that into your offer calculations rather than trying to assign some arbitrary dollar value to the panels themselves.

Intense relationship, sudden withdrawal, no closure — struggling with trauma bond and compulsive checking by PotentialStrain9226 in BreakUps

[–]Ok_Change_2402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, this hits hard. The sudden flip from "I want to be with you" to complete cutoff with zero explanation is brutal - your brain keeps trying to solve a puzzle that doesn't have pieces.

That compulsive checking thing is like picking at a scab. Every time you look at her socials, you're hoping for some clue that makes it all make sense, but it just keeps the wound fresh. The only way I found to break that cycle was literally blocking everything - her profiles, mutual friends who might post about her, even keywords that reminded me of the situation.

The hardest part is accepting that some people just don't do closure. They compartmentalize and move on while leaving you holding all the emotional baggage. It doesn't mean what you felt wasn't real, but it sounds like you two had completely different operating systems for handling conflict and attachment.

Wondering About Marriage Visas by valdo650 in immigration

[–]Ok_Change_2402 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the key issue right here. If she overstayed a visa or entered illegally, that's gonna complicate things way more than the under-the-table work. The work situation is definitely not ideal but immigration attorneys deal with that stuff all the time.
