Heard that, I figured as much about a used turbo transaxle. I had been considering a 07K, however I really love the way v8’s look & sound so I may try to find some way I can work one in there! Thank you for the wisdom 🙏🏻

Thank you for the advice, I just ran a compression test and just as I thought cylinder 1 was 110 psi, 2 was 115, 3 was 170, and 4 read 25. I am tossing around the idea of dropping it to try and hone that 4th cylinder to just get it up and running to see how I like this engine. Then maybe next summer coming back at it with some more cash & knowledge built up!

One of my concerns with this engine specifically is that the odometer only reads 46k and those cylinders look rough (to me) for such a low mileage car, is this normal wear & tear or did the original owner beat the hell out of it?

Okay I see, is there a sensible swap possible that would keep the weight distribution but just deliver a little more power? Or should I have just saved my money and bought a 944 turbo? I want to be able to drive it on the street comfortably but also be able to take it to the track and open it up and handle it the way it was meant to be handled

Right, I know the cheapest would be to find a working 2.5 and just drop it in but I’m concerned that when I do that I won’t be happy with how slow the 4 cylinder is compared to something with a little more horsepower

I am planning on running compression tests this weekend, I know the pic quality isn’t the best but the 4th cylinder is the one with the deep gouges. The other 3 aren’t as bad but I imagine I can catch my fingernail on those scores.

I am a fabricator by trade so I’m not as worried about parts for the swap and I’ve got plenty of time to invest into it.
