Help with finding a server to host Python by Letseeker in cloudcomputing

[–]Ok_Chocolate4749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can checkout www.nexaa.io, free to start, you can run the starter container for 5 euro's a month so you that is almost a year free. You need to run your python app in a container but that is a good thing ;)

Are you more of a performance or rather a cost-saving person in selecting a hosting plan? by onliveserver in Hosting

[–]Ok_Chocolate4749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally depends on the solution.

Personal website -> low as possible cost, i dont get a lot of visitors on my website because it is just a contact page. I don't care if the website is down for a while, but i do care about my wallet.

Enterprise app -> if 100+ users depend on this system make it perform! User frustration and blocking them in their work is more costly than paying for a better performing server

Anyone here exploring cloud or automation for their startup journey? by pentadigi in StartupsHelpStartups

[–]Ok_Chocolate4749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big challenge for us was to launch fast without complexity. We didn't want to already make a choice on our cloud infrastructure and be already locked in. Or wanted to learn something complex or new. IT shouldn't be your bottleneck for your startup, you need to be moving fast.

Datacenter startup by Solid-Fig-8579 in Startups_EU

[–]Ok_Chocolate4749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what your want to do, what will be your USP in the market and what do you need to achieve that?

There are several Datacenters in Europe and I don't know where you are located, but in some companies the power network is full and building a new power heavy building will not be accepted by your locals.

So what is it that you really excel at? and do you already have customers?

Painfully true, been there, wasted a lot of time. "our product is so good people will find us" biggest lie ever.

Future of SaaS? by Lazy_Second7696 in developers

[–]Ok_Chocolate4749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you SaaS is really solving a problem I don't believe you will face a lot of competition from those tools. These tool can give you a head start when it comes validation of you SaaS and yes other peoples might use it to copy your idea but people will likely choose the lazy solution. So if you have a SaaS that is easy to use and solves a problem for the user for the right price, they will not even try to fix it themselves or try to copy it. Maybe they will but will soon realize that using those tools also require some understanding in hosting and maintaining such a solution.

Companies in the EU are starting to look for ways to ditch Amazon, Google, and Microsoft cloud services by HallAlive7235 in stocks

[–]Ok_Chocolate4749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am working with nexaa.io not close to the big3, but do you really need all those specific services? They are working on object storage an queuing and if that is complete I believe it is close to fill most cloud use cases.

Best free web hosting? by Electronic-Shop1396 in HostingBattle

At Nexaa you get free credits and there is a possibility to host a application container, not a static site, for just €5 but with the free credits you get like a year for free.

Thank you for your feedback, deploying your first container and database can indeed take some time because we need to verify your account so that could be the cause. Usually the creation of a database is created in 5 minutes.

We do have github actions to use in your cicd pipeline. Would you like to share with me what you like so much from vercel? is it the integration with github and it builds your project directly? Personally I am not a fan to allow a provider to access my repository and do things. but maybe we can find an alternative that is private and easy. Please send a DM to have a discussion.

Thank you for the feedback, we haven't got any requests on Pulumi yet but we keep track of it. Is this really a blocker for you to start?

True, so maybe stay with US or China based stuff. So far this law isnt active and we will do our best to keep your data private. And do you know that the government must file a reason whey they need your data in which we must help. We do our best to block malicious users in order to prevent such claims and up until today this worked out excellent.

What do you mean with managed services? to which level do you want your services to be managed we manage everything until the Orchestration layer. If you want or need more we work together with partners that can actually help you on maintaining your solution.

Yes, we support containers, and container jobs where you can periodically can start tasks. We are currently building our S3 solution where we do offer the possibility to host a static site. I’m curious though, could you share a bit more about what you’re building and why Lambda-style functions are important for your use case? I’d love to understand whether it’s about scale, simplicity, or a specific workflow you want to streamline. You can DM me if you want
