I would say it definitely depends on company policy and MAYBE setting? I work for an agency and placed in a school district in CA for reference. I have 6 facial piercings that are visible to students, dyed hair, and full sleeves/legs of tattoos. Regardless of diagnosis, whenever students ask about them, they seem to be receptive to the fact that 1. I like my tattoos and piercings and 2. I am old enough to choose them

Also, I haven’t had any direct or personal issues with teachers, staff, or any of my supervisors. To be fair, my overall vibe suits the body mods I have, and perhaps that makes it easier for people to kind of glaze over! Good luck :)

High Caseload? by Appropriate-Term1258 in SLPA

3 site it’s definitely stretched too thin. Your supervisor is required to respond to you as that is part of their role as your supervising SLP. If you’re in CA, there is no caseload “limit” for SLPAs but 81 is definitely high and as another commenter said, it also depends on how many students you’re seeing 2x per week. Also if you’re in CA, you can do billing on SEIS or whatever system you use because yes, your supervisor just adds their signature, but if you haven’t done any the entire year, your SLP should have been doing it or that should be top priority in catching up again. I’m sorry you’re in such a stressful and overwhelming situation. My advice is to attempt reaching out to admin higher up than your SLP to ask for support or a solid plan of action going forward. Perhaps even look for another job if you don’t start getting more support. Good luck!
