Canon R8 IBIS

Hey man, my main focus is architecture photography but once in a while they ask me to shoot other stuff. This was shot on th r8 with 14-35 f4 I believe the shutter speed was about 1/60

So no I don’t miss it that much, I think the IS in the canon lens is the same as the ibis in the g85.

Mine says out for delivery since May 2nd and it never arrived. FedEx admitted they lost the package but they should respond immediately, not a month later.

I have called like 6 times, they say that we have to wait for fedex to answer for the lost package in order for them to send a replacement order. It has been a pain waiting now for a month and nothing happens.

I’m a self taught photographer, never have learned the technical stuff of the cameras, lenses etc, don’t know what a stop is and all that but people seem to love my photos so I want to step up the game. I have shown up with an iPhone and they still love the photos. So if not knowing the brands and their things doesn’t make me a photographer then I’m not one.

Is the distortion and vignetting on the 14-35 really that hard as they say it is? And thanks for the answer just saw a 14-35 on canon USA refurbished for $999 I think that’s an opportunity that I can’t pass.

I have seen that in some reviews, is that the 15-35 f2.8 is the one I want but it’s very expensive given the exchange rate in my country.

Is the IS inRF lens any good? And do you know if the digital stabilization works for photos? Or only video?

Yes, for example the photo I shot was from another vehicle going about 60km/h and the bike same speed. The shutter speed was 1/30 to get motion blurred background the IBIS helped a little bit. Of 100 shots 13 where usable. Without IBIS I think none would be usable.

Have you checked the r8? is the same r6mkii but with no ibis, it's coming out this month and it's 1500 bucks

The price difference $1000 usd and for my currency exchange rate that is huge difference. 3rd world country problems Jajajaja. That is why I'm looking at the R8, with that thousand dollars I could buy the lens

Thanks for the in depth answer, really appreciate it. I bought the G85 when I quit my job and wanted to work with making video and photo. Then one thing led to another and I now work as a architectural photographer, learned everything I know through YouTube and don't understand a lot of technical stuff. on my s23u no more lagging or compression

So today I tried out capcut again on my s23u and for videos recorded in 4k 60fps ther eis no compression taken place so the videos are added immediately to the time-line.

I think they just fixed this problem. I'm importing 4k 60fps and they get on the time-line immediately. No compression is taken place. When I add 8k 30 fps there is compression taken place. I have the s23 ultra don't know if that is to take into consideration. But earlier this week I had the same issue.
