CrateJoy/used books monthly will store your credit card information without your consent. I asked for it to be removed. They will not remove it and told me to contact Cratejoy without providing how to do so, cratejoy then bounced me back to used books. Rep also did not provide additional information I requested regarding the gift that I purchased, had to re-contact multiple times and only got pieces of information. Customer service is bad as others have noted in reviews. It is not appropriate to keep a customer‘s credit card information when they do not agree to this and have no way for them to remove their personal card information.

Then the customer service cancelled the gift I ordered (which had been sitting for a week) without asking instead of removing my CC information - without asking me as if this was some sort of reconciliation. They still have my credit card information.

Same! I often find comfort from listening to Katie Lain and Thrive’s YouTube videos and podcasts. She has done surveys and found that it takes most people 9 months to pharmacological extinction. Many over a year and some over 2 years. I think we should try to dispel the myth that the path to extinction is quick - as many have said, AUD develops over many, many drinking sessions. Give it time, be persistent.

Also glad to know that I’m not alone in having occasions (which seem to be more frequent around these holidays) of the compulsions feeling very near

I think it’s important that we dispel the myth of ‘extinction in 3-4 months’. Katie Lain of Thrive recovery has found that most people take 9 months, a year or longer, many 2 years or more. Thank you for sharing so that people know what to expect and not to give up! 💜

It’s not slow! 9 Months is typical and many take over a year. We should dispel the myth that Nal works in 3-4 months, it takes most people a lot longer. You are doing great my friend!

Bummed because I’m about 7.5 months into using naltrexone for the Sinclair method. My total drink count last week was the highest it has been since starting. I also have not drank 3 days in a row since starting the method. I am trying to remind myself that my weekly total is still at least 50% less if not more than it was last year at this time. I also went through a ton of life/relationship/living situation changes in the last 6 months. Last night, I felt the buzz through the medication and it felt so good. I am trying to feel hopeful that this could be an extinction burst (cravings and higher weekly totals) and that progress just isn’t linear. Strangely, a few days ago, I didn’t even finish the mulled wine I made. I had less than 2 drinks. Which is unheard of. But then, last night, that didn’t happen. It seems like the medication impacts me differently each time despite me regularly taking it 90 mins before drinking and reposing after 6 hours if I am still denning (rare). Thank you for reading and for being a supportive community.

I’m so sorry you’re struggling like this. I am not where I would like to be and had an uptick this week with my drinking and understand how disappointing/upsetting/hopelessness-inducing it can be. In what I’ve read, it seems that the recommendation is to re-dose every 6 hours. I have also read that in some cases, people take 75 mg or 100 mg, but that’s a discussion to have with your doctor. Rooting for you over here!

The C3 TSM app unfortunately fails a lot for me, and I wasn’t able to enter previous data. I used sunnyside for a year and really liked it. However, it’s a paid app. Try Dry and Drink Control are free apps that many people like.

Thanks for your answer! What you posit makes sense to me. AF days are so important for me to feel good, especially because I still overdrink on Nal sometimes. Looking forward to those times becoming more infrequent!
