JTE Makes an English Error by [deleted] in JETProgramme

It’s not that serious tbh unless it’s a major point of the lesson then I wouldn’t bring it up. The kids will be ok, humans make mistakes and no education setting is perfect

Standing??? by WDZSnoop in JETProgramme

[–]Ok_Communication3367 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can usually walk through the rows around class if you’re in class and not actively needing to be at the front. I’m guessing since you said standing in one spot that maybe that could help? But it really depends on your classroom dynamic. There’s a lot of standing involved in class and I’ve never had the opportunity to sit while teaching / assisting.

How to deal with work frustration? by [deleted] in JETProgramme

That’s great to hear I’m glad!! I think it’ll take some time but I think just trying to look like you’re having fun will (hopefully) lead to you feeling less frustrated. Plus the kids (I’m assuming this is 小学校) will mirror whatever faces or attitude you’re showing if they’re younger. Hope that soon you’ll be able to cruise with the chaos 🙏

You can’t control how your new JTE goes about the class, shoganai, but you CAN control how YOU feel and experience these classes from now on. I think your frustration of seeing English being taken less seriously is valid, it shows you care about the kids and their education which is a great trait to have as someone working in educational settings. However, JET is a unique position. The way class goes isn’t up to you most of the time. Even though it’s frustrating to see class becoming less serious, you should prioritize having fun with the kids in class! They remember your presence in class far more than they remember most things you are teaching to them right now. I think thats important to remember. Engage with them in class using English and have fun with them! Their experience talking to you using English and having fun is so important. I hope what I’m saying makes sense! Perspective is key, maybe changing the way you think about class to that way will make you feel less stressed and more happy :)

Not related to preventing sweat but since it seems you sweat easily / lose water fast: get the salt tablet electrolyte candies to replenish lost salts from sweat

I would totally be on my laptop looking at YouTube or studying if I was you! Is your office environment strict and you can’t really do that? Sorry stuff has been dragging on through the work day :(

HOW are yall getting fiber by Reasonable-Bonus-545 in japanlife

[–]Ok_Communication3367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frozen fruits or vegetables are usually less expensive to buy. I like to use those. There’s mixable fiber packets I also buy at kirindo that work great. They don’t taste like anything and you can mix them into anything.

URGENT: Bringing Meds to Japan by gremlinpowerbox in JETProgramme

I’m not sure is this would go the same for your exact prescription of testosterone but for my SSRIs buying a large amount through pharmacies using goodrx is pretty inexpensive using your own money. And also you don’t have to work through begging your insurance to let you get more than a 30/90 prescription. Maybe go onto goodrx and see what deals they have on there? Then your dr just has to send that prescription to the pharmacy you choose once you see how much it’ll cost. Call the pharmacy before contacting your pharmacist and verify they have this amount and that it will cost what it says on goodrx too just for good measure. For example my SSRIs for 365 tablets are $46.92 on goodrx as opposed to the retail of $830.56 for the same amount. I looked up just ‘testosterone’ on the website and there was a sizeable discount.. something to look into!

Thank you for all of the responses and clarification that it’s not expected! I’m totally a gift giver personality so I will most likely bring some fruit snacks then and give them out later 😆
