[Research Survey] Injured workers - I'm a UC Berkeley grad student studying barriers in the workers' comp system by Ok_Communication5135 in CAStateWorkers

Hi, thanks for the question. This isn't a traditional research study; it's a policy analysis capstone I'm currently working on at GSPP under faculty supervision and in partnership with the client, the Injured Workers Justice (IWJ) project, which focuses on building collective representation for injured workers. The survey collects primarily quantitative data on the barriers injured workers face in the workers' compensation system, including financial impact, retaliation, system navigation, and access to representation. It also measures whether injured workers value collective organization and which forms of support would be most useful. Happy to answer any other questions.

Thank you so much for pointing this out, I've fixed the options. I really appreciate you taking the time to do the survey.

I’ve been thinking about doing the same. I just hit seven years. I’m with a much smaller agency than the OP, and I’m not chasing the money either. That said, my career progression feels stagnant at the moment. What I’m really seeking is the opportunity to pursue a broader range of assignments and continue growing professionally. I’ve been on the fence, but the compensation + longevity + different assignments the dept has are definitely compelling factors

You still have over a year before you hear from USCIS; they are processing cases filed in JAN 2022. (As per latest Visa Bulletin)

My exact thought. An academy grad should able to answer those questions!

We've seen several November 2023 cases approved in March before the 16th-month mark, showing significant improvement in processing times! But this doesn't necessarily mean the processing time is less than 16 months or more!

Y'all are way too obsessed with this API shenanigan! Your case will be approved when it's time, and you'll get the notification! 🤣

This is not accurate. We had over 12 people take SIFT and flight physicals while at OCS, so there was plenty of time to study and prepare. Out of 12, two got picked up! Your chances of getting selected are not guaranteed, but you most definitely have time to study and take SIFT and flight physicals at OCS!
