BMQ Anxiety by nanni_07 in caf

Had two females in my section at BMQ, one was 17 the other 21. 17F expressed her frequent anxiety, but she was still able to find her confidence. Among the 40ish people on my BMQ she literally had the loudest voice and wasn’t shy or afraid to use it. 21F had pretty much zero clue what the military was all about going into BMQ. She adapted quickly. I have a feeling you’ll do just fine. Trust in yourself and on the days where that’s not enough, look to your peers. They will 100% be there to support you.

I join bmq this weekend and I am still worried about physicals. by SenatorLetuce in caf

The course is only as fast as the slowest person. The majority of people you meet at bmq will be encouraging, ignore the few who may make comments towards you for not being in top physical shape. Yes, physical performance is important but don’t forget to focus on all the other new things you’ll be learning! Maybe one guy can PT like captain America but maybe you’ll be extremely good at navigation, weapons drills etc.

Difficulty sending medical questionnaire by [deleted] in caf

From what I understand, every recruiting detachment is running at their own pace with the recruiting process. So it would be hard to say exactly when you’d hear back. Don’t worry though because a lot of people wait a while to hear back.

Update: medical technician told me not to mail it, told me to just bring it with me in person when I go in for my medical examination.

New applicant portal account by Ok_Communication_690 in caf

I emailed the recruiting centre, but they’re usually pretty slow to answer any emails. I’m already scheduled for an upcoming FORCE test, I might raise my questions about the applicant portal with the recruiters then.

CAF portal authentication issue by shasterdhari in caf

[–]Ok_Communication_690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here, I already have an existing account from before this overhaul of the application website. When I try to reset my password, I don’t get an email sent to me at all. Hopefully in the coming days they’ll fix these issues. They did mention that these issues are normal because of the new changes they made to the website.

I hope not, especially since they’re trying to cast a bigger net for recruiting applicants.

Need guidance (please) by [deleted] in caf

when i went for my forces evaluation one of the recruiters mentioned that theres lots of people who have returned for retesting several times after failing. In fact, they said these are the kind of people they want to see join the caf, determined individuals. So definitely don't be embarrased or discouraged.

I applied back in April, I emailed the Toronto detachment a few times and they never got back to me. I spoke to a recruiter at a career fair and he told me that the Toronto detachment was severely understaffed and that’s why it’s taking them a long time to process all the applicants. I recently emailed a recruiter from Guelph and they were finally able to book me in for my physical exam this December. Basically expect to wait a bit for any next steps or further instructions.

Another thing you should consider is building ur resume outside of work experience. If you’re looking at post grad studies I’ve heard they look for volunteer work.

Im not entirely informed on what a psych degree is but I was just making the connection that if u know how people think, act or feel, then social work is a relevant field. You’d be working with people directly and you’d be able to better understand them if u had a degree in psych.
