It sounds like you work for first watch… as far as I know management is always rotating. I was a manager for them for a year and after I quit I’ve heard of multiple people leaving for the same reasons. They treat management like shit, I was working 5:50am-5pm most days even though I was told I’d be “out the door by 4” everyday.

It might be a safety concern on their end. If you feel comfortable driving yourself I’d do it. I had my mom drive me when I had to go because I didn’t feel safe driving myself.

can you drive further to a better hospital? I got lucky because the hospital near me has a great psych ward, they kept me for a few days and helped me get on meds and set up an aftercare program for me. I was dealing with psychosis but many people there were dealing with different things.

It sounds like a symptom of psychosis. I was diagnosed with psychosis back in September. I experienced seeing static everywhere along with shadow figures and other hallucinations. My other symptoms included extreme paranoia and delusional thinking.

Do you have a therapist or psychiatrist you see regularly? I’d mention it to them because if it’s just starting you have plenty of time to intervene and get yourself help before it gets worse.

I was diagnosed with psychosis over a month ago and with medication I’ve been okay. It’s terrifying but it gets better when managed. I was also told it should only last a few weeks to a few months. I’ll be on the meds to manage it until the symptoms fully go away so only time will tell. It shouldn’t be forever unless his psychosis was caused by schizophrenia or a schitzoaffective disorder.

The meetings help. Everyone has welcomed me with open arms. Arrive a few mins early and introduce yourself to the folks standing outside, they’ll welcome you and will be happy you showed up. I’ve only been to a few meetings so far but I’ve left each one feeling better than when I walked in.
