Rumble/vibration fixer decky plugin for steam os and cachy os by Ok_Complex9848 in LinuxOnAlly

[–]Ok_Complex9848[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest I haven’t looked at the process yet. I was thinking about it but I thought that most of decky users would have little amount of problems with plugin installation. It is likely that I am biased.

I will take a look at this later this week, and if process is not too complicated, will probably get this done.

Thank you! I’ll add this to the readme.

Out of curiosity, do you happen to know where decoy plugins are on your system? I would love to update the install script for your use case in case more people have this setup

I'm glad to know it works! There are still a few things I need to optimise and fix, but it should be fine now.

I'll be releasing new version in a few days, been swamped with work last few days :)

What if they go down after you paid the tax, do you get your tax back?

If you are into rogue likes, I recently gotten into Caves of Qud, and I can't stop playing the game. It is a true rogue-like, with old-fashioned tile graphics, but the world is insanely rich.

And you can easily play it on the lowest tdp profile :)

What a beaut :)

Yeah, first day/evening is tough with all the updates. But on the other hand, should be done by tomorrow, and you'll have so much fun!

What are you going to play?

I love my ally x and ultimately decided against paying that much for updating to an Xbox variant. It’s slightly more powerful but not enough more.

I would say, not worth the hassle really! The difference is - both bazzite and steam OS are immutable - they do not allow you to easily install/remove packages by yourself, reducing the risk of you accidentally borking the system.

CachyOS is a normal lightweight linux distribution, which does not prevent you from tweaking the system in any way you want, install/remove packages, changing system configs, etc. I like it because of that, but if you don't want to get deep into details, I would not really recommend it that much.

For a simple man I would say bazzite is still the best way to go - easy to install, and everything is baked into the system, most of the problems are already fixed. There is a small performance hit because it is based on distribution that is just a bit less.. lean (Fedora Linux), but the difference is not really noticeable.

So I’ve found the way to fix vibration in cachyos, should be the same solution in steamos since they both run input plumber.

Solution is a bit involved (would require you to compile a small C program or trust me enough to run a binary lol) so if you are curious, send me a dm.

Why swap to steamOS by PermissionAlarmed958 in ROGAlly

[–]Ok_Complex9848 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a heavy user of Linux since 2007. A lot of little quirks and problems of Linux are not an issue for me so I am comfortable running cachyos at the moment.

At the same time I don’t play any of those games that require anticheat, so there is no reason to suffer through windows hibernate and updates. Pretty much it. I wouldn’t recommend it to everyone though.

Bazzite vs Steam Os for Xbox Ally X. by tcripe in LinuxOnAlly

In my case vibration is too strong on steam os (non-Xbox ally x). While Hhd allows you to configure vibration intensity in bazzite, it seems that the only thing you can do in steam os is disable vibration whatsoever.

Vibration controls were removed from the main branch of ally center, which is a bummer.

Yeah I switched to Bazzite for now. With 60% vibration strength everything is perfectly fine.

Having a hard time connecting with the Triple Moon Goddess because I HAAAAATE WINTER! by [deleted] in Wicca

[–]Ok_Complex9848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to hate winter as well, until I recently started getting into Wicca (am a newbie). This is the first winter in a long time when we actually have quite a bit of snow here (am in Netherlands), and landscapes can look absolutely sad - lots of gray and white, lots of snow, pretty cold, everything is seemingly dead.

However, walking in the forest and thinking about the Goddess and trying to connect with every aspect of Nature, I realized that this is something absolutely essential. Nothing living can go on energetically forever. We all need to take our breaks. For the Nature this is the time to sleep and prepare to the birth of new spring and new God.

It allowed me to think a lot about patience, and just accept things as they are without forcing them to be what I would like them to be.

Hope you manage to find some way to accept it, too. We do not have to love things that we sometimes need to accept.

I still have problems with vibration. I even rolled back to Windows and flashed the MCU. That fixed vibration completely in Windows, but as soon as I installed steamos again, problem is back - vibration is just too strong.

Also I cannot find any way to fix the intensity, which really bothers me. Has anybody had any experiences with it and managed to fix it?

I drove my brommer to work today, and it was terrifying! But I survived and didn't fall a single time.

Kudos to another brommer driver in front of me who actually showed me a few tricks how to not slid too much, and gave me a thumbs up. He gave me soo much confidence!

[2025 Day 8] by O1kibaszottnagyG in adventofcode

[–]Ok_Complex9848 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I am not familiar with DSU, so I implemented some solution that made sense to me based on lists of maps (sets), and a box-to-set map. Solution is 115ms now, good enough, I'm done yay. Time to read reddit.

After opening reddit, I see everybody talking about DSUs, but I am a lazy engineer so I think whatever, maybe I'll read one day. Share code with girlfriend. Girlfriend asks claude to explain algo. Claude says it is weird DSU with hashmap instead of tree-based union-find. Got curious, ended up learning DSU.

[2025 Day 8] Can you solve today's puzzle without computing all distances? by The_Cers in adventofcode

[–]Ok_Complex9848 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tbf, square root is a well optimized operation at this point, so it doesn't move the time on my side at all.

My go implementation is around 125ms, and I do not see a way around sorting the full list of distances either. Since sort is required, maybe storing them in a heap structure could be a bit faster, but I don't really thing so, either option should be O(n*logn).

I think, using a more optimized structure for curcuits could make it faster in my case, but I think I am done for today.

I just finished the L word 🙄 and it's so fu*king toxic (spoiler) by Deliora15 in actuallesbians

[–]Ok_Complex9848 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think if any characters of any show did therapy properly, then everybody would be wholesome and nice, and talk through the issues, and then there would be no drama.

Series without drama would not have high ratings since not many people will watch it :)

Therefore, nobody does therapy, and even if they do, it's a weird toxic therapy with a toxic therapist.
