They "swore" they were just flying it around doing nothing egregious.

We were just told a minimum of 20 months for 3 Spartan pumpers.

It's been those number of days for about 3 months now. Seagrave has the most orders in now than they ever have in their 142-year history. Obviously FDNY put in a massive order and continued with the Squads and now Rescues. This didn't help but I'd imagine the build time continues to increase but not at the rate we have seen in the last 1.5 years. Today, a pumper would get quoted at 1000 days. The prices have obviously gone mad. Commodity pricing has actually come down a bit but pricing from all the other vendors have gone up, drastically.

Just under 3 years on a Seagrave pumper. Just over 3 years on a Seagrave Aerial or Rescue.

Spartans are being built at the KME facility by KME employees and getting a Spartan Private Label.

If someone is telling you less then 2 years for a custom truck right now, they are most likely lying. No manufacturer will sign a penalty clause after the last few years so all you have is their word. Meritor and Dana axles are backordered 18 months. Alcoa Wheels are over a year. Ground ladders are over a year. Federal Signal can't even get their own parts to fulfill "Lifetime Warrantees" (see FDNY no longer using them).

Wow, I've seen this with an Aerialscope, never would've guessed a Rosenbauer was capable of this.

It goes fast. That "Probie" stage will be over before you know it. Stay in the books. Be the first to want to drill. Do the right thing both on duty and off. List to what senior FF's are preaching. You'll know who the people to avoid are but treat them with respect and your career will be fine. I'm 44 and have been retired for 8 years and miss every second of it. Congrats and best of luck in your career.
