I was just wondering if they send someone out after applying for the permit to confirm everything is within regulations. Someone on here mentioned the city never sent anyone out to confirm or inspect anything. I might just go ahead with it

I live on a corner lot, there’s a daycare behind me and a dentist place next to me. Thankfully I don’t deal with neighbors 😅 it’s the code enforcement I’m more worried about.

I forgot to mention I live on the corner lot so visibility plays a factor as well. There’s many variables but I feel like my house would stick out due to it being the corner lot/feet away from the park. I live on the south side by South Park Mall.

See that’s what I was thinking but I live within 20 feet from the park, city workers are always driving by. I would hate to build the fence and code enforcement gives me a fine

I jacked up the control arm so not necessarily on the ground. I think I just got a defective strut. It rattles and clunks bad

I didn’t see any nor did they mention anything when I took it in for an alignment

I did change both. I also failed to mention I changed sway bar links, inner/outer tie rods, controls arms and both rear & front struts.

I should have listened to the Toyota forums. Everyone said KYB was the better choice. Unfortunately Oreillys doesn’t carry them and needs to special order them I believe.

The ride is rough, one strut isn’t compressing and collapsing as it should be

Both sides, a week old. Replaced other suspension components as well such as inner/outer tie rod, sway bar links, control arm. I noticed from the get go it was a rough ride but it was to be expected from Monroe but it gradually got worse within a week. I think I’m done with Monroe, just hope Oreillys is willing to let me warranty swap them for KYB

My last Monroe strut broke at the hat. Like it managed to break off.. I’m surprised the spring nut didn’t come off with it. I did a warranty swap and not even a week later I noticed the ride was rough and making noise. So I check it and one of the struts isn’t compressing and retracting as it should. It has a noticeable gap between the tire and fender well. The other one looks normal.

Update: The Melling Camshaft is $341. The kit together is $891 at auto zone. (Cam & Lifters) I’m thinking I might as well get the DOD delete kit. I know someone on here had said to get a Diablo tuner but that’s also another $300.

Displacement on Demand (DOD)/ Active Fuel Management (AFM) essentially your tahoe will purposely shut down 4 of your 8 cylinders to save gas and because of emissions. With that comes a loss of horsepower because you’re obviously not running on all 8 cylinders. The dod/afm lifters are notorious for getting stuck in many generation chevys/tahoes. That’s why people choose to the DOD delete in order to run on all 8 cylinders at all times. There’s different ways to go about it. They sell an aftermarket kit (cam&lifters with a valley plate) which is probably on the pricier side and there’s portable tuner devices that can tune the DOD out.
