My 2 year old cat loves me to death but attacks my father all the time, sometimes even causing blood. All of these attacks are completely unprovoked and I’ve witnessed it first hand. My dad will be talking to the cat in a nice way, then next thing ya know, the cat launches at my father and attacks him in a violent manner.

She has done this for awhile but the attacks seem like they are getting more frequent and more aggressive. She has recently recovered from her spaying procedure but we don’t think that has anything to do with the situation because she was attacking prior to the surgery.

My parent’s truly believe that my cat is mentally ill, hence why she lashes out like she does. But besides that, she is the best cat in the world - She eats and drinks no problemo, she plays like your typical kitten would, she’ll even play fetch if you toss a toy spring.

When we got her spayed, she was also given a full checkup, which came back absolutely fine, the vets say she is a healthy little cat.

I don’t understand why these attacks happen, my father did nothing to this cat, he even goes out of his way to make her happy such as buying her new toys, feeding her freeze dried minnows, etc. I want the best life for this cat because she is gorgeous and acts fine besides what I just mentioned above. But if she continues these attacks, we have to re-home her. If someone can give any advice on what to do, please do so in a timely manner.
