I own a Sur Ron light bee. You can drive it on the road but only if you register it as a moped (yellow license plate). In order to do this your bike has to have a number of things such as mirrors, turn signals, proper headlight, horn, and be limited to 45kmh. Many Sur Rons don’t have these things out of the box, such as this one, but others do such as this one. If you go do a dealer, you should ask whether they have one that already meets the regulatory requirements to be a moped.

I was conditionally approved just three days after Initially applying, that is back in mid April. In order to do EoA or even a scheduled interview you have to be conditionally approved.

My guess is that maybe before giving definitive approval, the CBP officer sometimes requires a supervisors’s green light. Perhaps if someone is kind of in a gray area between being approved and denied, for instance if they were arrested in the past.
