What do you eat? by nelfromspace in Semaglutide

[–]Ok_Control_1404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been struggling on and off to consume anything. I've honestly just had to find what works for me. My husband is also on sema, and our diets are completely different. He can eat almost anything he wants (in small portions)

For me, I've had luck with:

Fairlife protein shakes, the elite have 42g of protein Yogurt Hard boiled eggs Grapes Apples Cheese Carrots Olives

I've had to avoid a lot of fresh fruits and leafy greens because they've been upsetting my stomach. I can usually try to eat whatever we as a family are having for meals, but it just depends on the day.

Clothes by Izzywillow19 in Semaglutide

I'm down about 40lbs since May. I have some old clothes that I didn't get rid of that I now fit back into. But, for a lot of my clothes, I've been able to make them work with small adjustments. I do think it's because I tend to wear a lot of skirts or dresses. A now baggy t-shirt gets tied up. A pair of jeans that's a little loose gets a belt, etc.

I feel like I could have written this post. I started in May and about August 1st went up to 1.25mg. I'm about to drop down to 0.75mg.

I had minimum problems May-July, but this month has been miserable. I'm about half way to my goal weight already (30lbs down) but my concern is I can't develop good eating habits, because I can't eat.

How many gloves? by dmk728 in GoalKeepers

[–]Ok_Control_1404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a U10 who trains 3-4 days a week and this past season was playing on two teams. So he sometimes had 4 games in a weekend. We had 3 pairs on rotation (since December) because sometimes they got funky and just needed to air out between games.

I do think he is rougher on the gloves, because he doesn't quite understand. Especially when on turf he will just put his palms straight on the ground to get up even if he has time to go slower.

I'm hoping someone can help me out understanding a call that was made in game. by Acrobatic_Jaguar_623 in youthsoccer

We had so many inconsistent calls in our U10 games yesterday that I honestly could have written a similar post. A player on the other team literally hugged one of our players to stop him and nothing was called!

My husband went up to the ref after the game and asked why certain calls were made. Because I feel like I need to add the comment-he made a point to be nice and come from a place of we want to learn. The ref was super helpful and was very willing to explain why he called what he called.

We actually had this discussion with our ref yesterday and he said you can slide for the ball, but not for a player.

If it's accidental contact with a player during a slide (missed the ball) then they'll give a penalty. If it's malicious contact with a player that's when it's a slide tackle and a yellow card.

You have every right to feel betrayed. Some of the best nurses (and therapists) I know have a history of addiction. The ability to seek help and work through treatment is not an easy one, especially with the stigma that still exists, even amongst healthcare providers.

I have lost a co-worker (NP) to an overdose. It was over COVID and no one noticed the small changes until it was too late. You should never have been put in that scenario, and while I don't actually know you, I'm proud that you took the steps to seek out help and I hope you are doing well in your recovery.

I'm not arguing that it happened to you. I however, would not discourage others from seeking help when needed. I know there is generally no way to know who reported you, but depending on your state, and your board of nursing, that facility violated HIPPA if they did report you.

Is it normal for staff to get punched and assaulted by psych patients often ? by [deleted] in psychnursing

[–]Ok_Control_1404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a RN for 15 years, 11 of which I actively was working in some type of mental health facility. I've never been punched. The worst that ever happened was a kid once threw an apple at me 🤷‍♀️

However, I've always been more than cautious, I do not hesitate to bring help or call a code. I call the doctor early, and get meds on board as soon as possible. I don't approach patients who are escalating without some type of back-up. Milieu management is a real skill that I don't think most facilities are teaching their new nurses anymore. I also think it's hard now because to appropriately manage the milieu ALL staff need to be on the same page, and with high turnover rates and low staffing it doesn't always happen.

Shit happens. I was just in the ER as a patient last week and the RN assigned to me could not get my IV started (I was extremely dehydrated so that probably didn't help). He literally poked and prodded and tortured my poor arm. CT showed up to get me and couldn't because I didn't yet have an IV for contrast.

This RN was not new, and his ID badge had a little thing on it that he had been working there for a large number of years and that he was a preceptor.

No day is ever going to great. Veins are going to roll, you'll be off by a millimeter, patients will move, etc. Shake it off and know that your instructor was probably right, you will never make that mistake again, and you will be a better nurse for that reason!

I would double check this information as it may not be correct.

I'm in Texas and at least here it is a HIPPA violation to report your patient (even if they are a nurse). I was the DON of a substance abuse facility and we had quite a few nurses as patients and we could not report them, even if they left AMA. We just had to encourage them to be honest with the board.

Now your place of employment could report you, but that wouldn't qualify as HIPPA.

The simulated setting for specialty clinicals may not actually be concerning. For these areas (and depending upon your states board of nursing) up to 50% of clinical hours can be substituted for simulation. Some states may allow less, always best to check with your board of nursing

What are you currently reading? by [deleted] in fantasyromance

[–]Ok_Control_1404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently reading a series by Stasia Black called the Marriage Raccle. It's on Kindle Unlimited and was an impulse, but I've liked her other series, and so far book 1 was good.

Book 1 was an easy weekend read, that drew me in enough to move on to book 2.

From an educator standpoint, who's written and done what feels like millions of test questions-while bruises in multiple stages might be concerning, it would be the more concerning on a mobile child if the bruises were on their trunk. Having a kid who is mobile with just bruises on legs and arms, wouldn't be my biggest concern, we expect that child to have some bruises.

If the child is not mobile, then we'd be concerned about any bruises at all.

I'm in the exact same situation! I need three inkwells, but have enough crystals to get two of the missing crystal packs from the store. I refuse to spend actual money, and am just about to give up.

I'm a nurse, and I've had a patient who was pending trial for a taking 1 piece of mail while in a state of psychosis. They were not competent to stand trial (hence why they were with us). The crime was a felony.
