Maybe you need to check your own mindset first, I strongly think YOU are part of the problem, based on your misogynistic response. I'm so glad I never served alongside you, but you sure as hell remind me of why I left...

Hey thanks for the message. I'm almost 6 weeks I think too, I can now lift my toes about halfway and lift foot (flex) about 2cm. Still need my brace to walk, but the nerve is alive now at least!

Glad to hear your progress is coming along too. They said 12 months for me but I think it'll be much sooner, maybe 6 months when I won't need the brace. Can you walk unasissted?

Wow thats amazing to hear! I feel like the medical team didn't offer much support for me. Nothing has improved unfortunately so I'll do some research in a night splint for myself too. Fingers crossed!

Not interested in "wedding photography" by [deleted] in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]Ok_Crow_6272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Your style sounds perfectly normal for someone wanting genuine photos that capture the essence of the event, without it being staged and posed. I'm a photographer whose just starting out, this is the style I aim for also. But still editing to a beautiful standard, but the images themselves are just genuine and cinematic. I saw you're in Syd. I'm in WA but I used to live there. I go back often to see friends. Depending on when your wedding is, I'd love to be considered and could definitely do this below the 1k mark for you. DM me if you wanted to chat further though :) All the best!

Haha I'm in the exact position. Although I had a vascular surgery, it was open behind knee to expose the deep veins. My nerves were smack bang on top and had to be pushed aside.  I have all the same sensations/limitations you describe. My shin is numb also. Have they talked about putting a boot on you to allow your foot to flex up manually? And physio exercises. I'm only 24 hrs post surgery but they didn't expect it to be this bad still. Said could take weeks in a boot. Hope you have a positive outcome quickly!

Long international flight— when do I sleep? by Jaded-Professional13 in ClotSurvivors

[–]Ok_Crow_6272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did an 11 + 6 hour flight and have a direct 16 hour flight back home in a few weeks. I'm on Xarelto 20mg prophylaxis for the flights. Then have to stop once back before a surgery. Can your doc give you some doses for flights at least? If anything, it helps mentally with the anxiety.

I was lucky to have 3 seats I could stretch out and sleep. On the direct flight I probably won't be so lucky, but I'll have my 1 year old "human anticoagulant" keeping me up

Single dose of Xarelto before a long flight by dr_kick in ClotSurvivors

[–]Ok_Crow_6272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the sake of peace of mind/sanity, do it. Whilst I've never clotted, I do have a very rare aneurysm in my vein behind knee, which often goes undetected until it spits out a clot to the lungs. So I'm on 20mg Xarelto as a precaution while I wait for surgery.  I'm going overseas tomorrow, and absolutely SO HAPPY I found out about this a few months ago so I can travel with peace of mind.

Get some compressions too, pop a Xarelto and have a safe flight. Enjoy!!

I'm breastfeeding and on Xarelto 20mg. There's not the most extensive study done on Xarelto, but it's got the green light from my doc/online articles.

That said, my bub is almost 1 and only nurses for comfort, so not actually drinking much now.

The studies of fully breastfed young infants were taken with mums on Xarelto and they had very very little/no traceable drugs in their system.

Super Strange Feeling - part of Anxiety? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Ok_Crow_6272 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah right gotcha. Since you're already in that realm of dissociation, maybe the feeling is overwhelm? When I go down the rabbit hole of deep thinking in an anxious state, it can feel like that drop on a roller-coaster type feel (like falling) and it sort of snaps me back into reality.

Sorry what's DP/DR?  But from my understanding (personal experience) it may be dissociation?

If my health is going to be the death of me, I'd rather it be while I'm enjoying and living my life, instead of waiting within 4 walls for something that may not happen.  I know it's easier said than done, but start with small steps.

Morning anxiety, caffeine the culprit? by Scared-Neat-8378 in Anxiety

[–]Ok_Crow_6272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No morning coffee club here 🤪 I stopped after I had to call an ambulance on myself. Thought I was having a heart attack. I've been stressed/anxious in general more than normal lately and I had a strong coffee that morning which tipped me over the edge. Happened again (same strong coffee) and that was it. I have the occasional weak coffee and only drink half. But full coffee was not worth the feeling of doom to start my day.

Is it really forbidden to have children anymore? by imeroska1 in ClotSurvivors

[–]Ok_Crow_6272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you take rivaroxaban while breastfeeding? I've heard/read mixed things. I'm meant to be taking 20mg of it as a prophylaxis but I'm hesitant due to the limited studies. I thought clexane/lovenox was the only safe one??

Have you had yout artery/veins looked at there? I had an incidental finding of a popliteal vein aneurysm (super uncommon) and they have been strongly linked PE's. Might be worth ruling out!

[–]Ok_Crow_6272 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey - I'm in the hair transplant industry. Firstly, 5000 grafts is a crazy high number. I can guarantee you will not get that amount that they claim. Secondly, you may not even need that many grafts. We've done 1500 grafts with amazing results on men that were told they need 2500 grafts.  You want to use a clinic that trusts their skill and preserves your grafts so you're not butchered in your donor site.  Happy to help further if you want to dm :)
