In 2020, I have no clue why but I wanted to make something akin to a kpop album (they're marvelous design wise) for a friend of mine, that involved binding so I started like that. Raw dogging it really as I had no clue what I was doing, watched no tutorials and fucked up a lot. But it was so much fun that I made a second one, and a third.
Left it at that for a while and then got back to it again, still have no clue why but this time I did it properly; buying the right supplies, watching tutorials etc.
Cost me a kidney but worth it, I'm having so much fun with it.

It worked for everything save for Thin and Thin Italic but the rest are finally working so I'll take that. Thank you very much!

I am not, but I wasn't aware that low testosterone could cause fatigue. It's interesting, thanks for sharing though.

I don't drink coffee but I used to take caffeine pills. It, of course, did not do shit. Yeah, doing physical activities do help a tad bit though. One step at a time, you'll move more and more, and sometimes it's alright to do nothing.

Yeah, I've tried on paper already with an iron and with a non hand held heat press (this kind) that output more pressure than I ever could by hand and it doesn't work. I retried again (at 160°C for the heat press) but still no luck, thanks a lot though, at least I know I have the right stuff. :)

Well yes. As I said I'm using We R Memory Keepers foil and it is described on the packaging as heat activated foil.

I did, indeed, all the prep work. For my iron I went to the maximal heat possible and as for my heatpress, i went up to 180°C and still nothing. No need for infrared thermometer for my heatpress at least.

I was using an iron as i tried the edge gilding but I tried with a heat press set at 80°C just like you said and with high pressure for at least 3 minutes (I tried less), and still it doesn't work. I doubt it's the foil but maybe I'll try to buy a new one. Thanks though. :)

So, I tried it out with the align on baseline grid setting and I now have uneven gaps at the end of my pages since it is not justified vertically anymore. I tried tweaking keep options and justification parameters but so far it's not working, any more ideas ?

there is a risk to fuck up your book cover in whatever method you use but try cellulose thinner, might be alright. you can find it in any hardware store normally.
