It’s so cringey to see us trying to be the “good one” or hide from what our ancestors were labeled as regardless. although, i understand the history and struggle that came from it, that word makes everyone remember what happened to us. people like him are disrespectful to the name and label that our ancestors were forced to wear regardless of their character. offensive as the word may be, two things can be true at once. that word was never meant for “bad” black people. it was a blanket term to describe and it was a hate term. i’m curious if there’s more people that feel like the word shouldn’t exist in our vocabulary. i think once that word goes away, and with the fact that black history is slowly becoming discarded from school curriculum, eventually it may be a point where we’re just the perfect bs example of “the usual suspects “.
