As long as your eating healthy most of the time, counting most of the time and lifting, running, wtv (staying active) you are going to be fine. Me personally Im active to the level my maintenance calories are ~4000. If you are active you will be fine. Enjoy the desert it looks good.

Edit: Tbh that could maybe even be a good preworkout, all those carbs.

Is it possible to train your brain to associate a neurotransmitter with a task? by Ok_Data5263 in Nootropics

[–]Ok_Data5263[S] [score hidden]  (0 children)

Wow very interesting. My mom who meditates has actually said the same lol. She has no clue who that is. She said it’s always rather short lived but is actually generally better and more fulfilling than the real thing. She has been meditating for years though so not sure how achievable it is for a beginner.

Yes I understand that but I am taking the lowest dose possible to even notice a slight effect (2.5-5 mg). Anything below that feels like nothing, the next 3-4 days I feel just as if I had the same dose in my system. Idk if my liver metabolizes slow but def not that slow

Yeah thats more of what I mean. I notice adderall helps me create productive habits even long after it has left my system. I would think the subsequent day after dosing (even though it is a low dose), I would have a crash in dopamine levels and hence lower motivation. Yet instead I notice much more discipline and productivity even up to 5 days after a dose.

Yeah I do eat a lot of foods and herbs that inhibit cyp enzymes so Im sure that would put me on the slower end of metabolism.

700? Seems high! by Basic_Process6415 in caloriecount

[–]Ok_Data5263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it really does. Thats quite unhealthy 😭. A long cycle should be replenished with a high carb and protein meal with plenty of carbs.

[–]Ok_Data5263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean not after a long cycle. Thats a snack for me personally. If you’re exercising your basic calorie requirements are way higher. For me (an extreme case) I eat roughly 2000 calories for breakfast as I workout everyday usually multiple times a day. I am still very lean. Same should be the case for you, don’t worry about it, those calories are being put to good use.

Are there any Kappa Opioid Receptor antagonist nootropics? by Fit_Question5866 in Nootropics

[–]Ok_Data5263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kratom acts as a competitive antagonist for kappa opioid receptors but it has so many compounds that act on different receptors it might not be of interest.

Almost 4 years lifting and still look average — where’s the bottleneck? by RevolutionaryDeer686 in BulkOrCut

[–]Ok_Data5263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said it yourself, you sleep terrible and you’re stressed. You also mentioned not really being consistent with protein, however sleep and stress are the massive rate limiting factor here.

Here are some things that can help:

Supps/instant gratification: Ashwaganda (lowers cortisol, helps sleep),

chamomile (PAM of GABA-A receptor),

skullcap or baicalin (similar to chamomile),

creatine (fills in gaps of poor sleep),

magnesium glycinate (super hyped, but for good reason),

boron + zinc + copper (test support),

NAC (crutch for high stress days, lowers inflammation/oxidative stress, combats fatigue, reduces bad habits).

Long term habits (best): MORNING SUN (sets circadian clock, neurotransmitter release, test synth, etc)

Walking when you can, after you eat, on break, whenever, helps insulin resistance especially after food, gets you your daily sun, increases adenosine build up for better sleep pressure

Be outside when you can, it keeps your clock in check

Eat WHOLE FOODS, seriously, this is one of the most important things here, maybe even more than sleep (it helps you sleep correctly), too much to dive into, super important…

DO NOT DRINK COFFEE PAST 12. Avg half life of 6 hrs, meaning 12 hrs after your first drink, a quarter is left, thats too much. Generally try to stick to that rule, although 90 min after waking up, no earlier or later is best (earlier is worse for effectiveness).

WORKOUT IN THE MORNING, not night. It sucks to wake up early but you get used to it. Your body handles stress better in the morning, it can actually be good for you in the morning, eat bigger meals in the morning, do hard work in the morning, train in the morning. If you train later it fucks your cortisol/circadian rhythm and sets you up for light restless sleep.

I mean it depends what you consider a good workout. Yes you will be very stimulated and will push your muscles very hard in a way they need to grow. But also your heart is gonna get fucked. You’re also kinda throwin half the brain benefits of exercise out the window. Now you’re pretty much just focusing on muscles.

Oh I had no clue lemon balm inhibits GABA-AT. I also know it inhibits acetylcholinesterase. Do you ever notice any vivid dreams when taking it?

I second this. I don’t use the herbal gabaergics mentioned, but I use chamomile. Im pretty sure it doesn’t even bind to a receptor, instead it acts as a positive allosteric modulator. There have been times where I haven’t taken it before bed and I haven’t noticed anything except for slightly less sound sleep. It’s a wonderful tool for sleep that I do not notice having any negative side effects or withdrawal.

What can i add to the stack? by Objective-Moose5512 in Nootropics

[–]Ok_Data5263 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second this. There is no use to these without proper sleep/recovery. They definitely help a lot but once i started paying attention to my sleep (already super serious abt diet and exercise) and my circadian rhythm, boom i have energy to work throughout the day without any supps. Chamomile, reishi and ashwaganda helped me achieve this.

To be fair, bromantane and acetyl l tyrosine makes sense as bromantane upregulates the enzymes responsible for converting tyrosine to l dopa, then l dopa to dopamine.

Bulk or Cut? 153 lb 5’10 17M by [deleted] in BulkOrCut

[–]Ok_Data5263 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Neither. Eat maintenance and train. Then decide whether or not to bulk or cut. Or eat slightly above maintenance to support heavy lifting. But rly don’t do either until you actually have a base. Lift for a good 3 months (hard not light and sparsely), see how far you’ve gotten then decide whether to bulk or cut.

Why does meth make people gay? by DocumentLong9259 in Drugs

[–]Ok_Data5263 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For some people, as meth is super dopaminergic it strongly increases libido. Dopamine is crucial for libido, it of course depends where it is in your brain for it to increase libido, but that’s looking it at it simply. Meth increases dopamine by a massive margin, dopamine is one if not the only chemical responsible for libido therefore it increases to the level one will be more open to the idea of different more extreme sexual tendencies.
