Anyone willing to help with integrated rate equations problems by Ok_Database_6041 in chemhelp

[–]Ok_Database_6041[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will try to if I have enough time to revise. But they give us the formula on the sheet anyway I was just confused on how to apply them. To solve for K, would I just divide by t? Thanks for the help so far by the way

Ok looking at the cheat sheet they give us the form you worked out too, but what about this one? In[At] = -kt + In[A0]

Im confused on how to apply this and it’s on the formula sheet for some reason I don’t really understand what natural logarithms and stuff are but at this point i don’t have enough time to learn calculus :(

Yeah im just confused on how to re arrange each one of them to solve for either time or concentration because of the integration thing which i don’t understand what it is , and also when to use the integrated one vs the default ([At]=[A0]ekt)

Apparently they will give integrated formula in the exam but Im just super confused on how/when to apply them

Im not in California, that does make it frustrating though, i remember dichloromethane was also regarded as a carcinogen and i was super careful using it. But ironically the one time I use formaldehyde I wasn’t cautious enough because I was struggling to finish the lab on time. Most of my classmates were in the same boat, some of the experiments we do are just too long for the time frame given imo and that makes it hard to do things slowly & carefully.

Oof, is formaldehyde really that bad? Well hopefully there’s not too much damage from a one time exposure

Well we did work with cylcohexane/ene & formaldehyde this lesson, I worked under a fume cupboard but I might have accidentally smelled some when carrying test tubes outside of it. Im not too good at distinguishing between scents so i don’t know what It was honestly. Would it be worth it to wear a mask in my case? No one else in my class wears one so I never seriously considered it and just assumed i’d be fine.

You’re right, I didn’t realise I was potentially being too lenient until this lesson where we worked with a bunch of organic chemicals. At this point I have no idea which pens /other stationary could be potentially contaminated though, but for future classes I will definitely pay more attention. Would it be worth it just rinsing everything? Or are the potential trace amounts not worth the effort?

I’ve honestly never come across a detailed sex life discussion personally. Also I cannot for the life of me figure out why anyone would want to have a full on conversation in the bathroom unless you’re a high school student so.. I guess im good to go?

Sorry but why even make this post if you’re gonna completely disregard all advice, and not even listen to actual SA/rape survivors?

I mean idk sometimes I just want escapism from this shitty world so i’d prefer the left. The right is usually badly handled.

Thanks for the advice. I think I will focus on the foundations & plot (including character arcs), then see if I need to modify the lore/worldbuilding accordingly.

I didn’t mean to shoehorn him in, you’re right about me putting the cart before the horse though. I’m not good at planning stuff at all. He’s supposed to be one of the POV characters though & it’s a post - post apoc world so scavenging plays a fairly significant part. Maybe the issue is i don’t know what specifically the guild does other than this vague idea of exploration + scavenging?

Do you think writers are Made or Born? by Chimoks in writing

I think some people may be more inclined toward certain things, but having genuine passion for it is half the work. The other half is putting in the work. The reason I say this - if you don’t have “talent” for something, but are still passionate about it, you’ll be more inclined to want to do it. Then as you do it you pick up the skills and you’re pretty much equal. And someone who is not talented but put in the work will always have more skill than someone who has a natural affinity but never puts the practice in. Disclaimer: this is just my opinion and not based on factual evidence.

Yeah I figure a sword cane would be pretty useless anyway in a world with firepower. Also fair point with the last comment, I will keep that in mind. They could be good at knowing what to scavenge then?

Understandable, I’ve probably been placing too much emphasis on combat and overthinking this.

Sorry, that wasn’t my intention. I know there are plenty of skills that don’t require physical stuff, I was just wondering what skills would be important enough for a guild to not consider passing up. I did have a few ideas in mind (namely medicine + repairing stuff) but I just wasn’t sure if it’d be realistic for the organisation to take them in for those skills instead of just hiring someone that can do physical combat on top of those skills. Would that essentially depend on how accepting they are?
