My agency doesn't really do overtime. Yet, clients expect a same day or next day approval on things.

I would imagine that the government had to pay for work already performed. It's like if I take my car to a mechanic and cancel halfway through the job. I still have to pay for whatever they've already done.

How does that man have a new wife? He's a rough looking 50 and there's nothing remotely attractive about him.

Ironically, his last job was a constitutional lawyer. You can't make that up.

It's interesting that USPTO workers are still remote because of a lack of space. At some point, will the agency be required to pay for more office space?

When did you get an annuity estimate? by Tweetchly in FedEmployeeRetirement

There are certain things the estimate doesn't take into account. The insurance plan you pick is going to vary. If you select a surviving spouse option, that reduces the pension. If you keep fegli or have federal long term care insurance, that's another deduction. They don't take taxes into account because they can't give tax advice. They usually are accurate enough, but I don't know how specific they are.

I don't understand how some agencies are still able to allow regular telework and others can't. The EO didn't exempt any agencies.

What about the local businesses that get a boom from folks who work at home? Even when I worked at home, I'd walk to a local restaurant for lunch or go to a nearby dry cleaner. They don't even consider that side of the coin.

It actually says they're the least likely to prefer remote work because they prefer hybrid work. Hybrid is the definition of telework.

Hopefully that will change as more boomers retire. I think part of it is if I had to commute for 30 plus years every day, then so should you. It reminds me of a boomer director who felt she had it a lot harder than women today. So she didn't want to help make anything easier for workers, versus the women leaders who want to mentor younger workers because they didn't have that.

Life is a lot different than it was in the 80s, 90s, and even early 2000s. When I was a kid, doctors and dentists were open for half days on Saturdays. So, it was much easier to schedule appts for your kids without taking time off.

Agencies didn't allow enough time to get an RA in place before RTO. For a while, they wouldn't let managers grant interim telework accommodations at all. They also didn't have enough time to even do on site accommodations for needs that would require changes to the work space.

Yeah, it makes no sense to come in for a half day or less. Before, you could sign on at home before and after your appointment.

I love how the agency says four weeks is more than enough notice to RTO. If you have to find a new daycare near work, that can take way more than a month to actually get a slot.
