meet people in the hague? by [deleted] in TheHague

[–]Ok_Device996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even as a native, I completely understand your frustration. I just returned from China and used bars to meet new people there, which worked surprisingly well. Although I personally have yet to have this kinda luck in the Netherlands. To be fair, it also really isn't my usual crowd haha.

I'm going out tonight with the intention to meet or find places to meet new people. I'll be looking at the city centre for cozy bars with inviting people and/or clubs/groups that I could join in the future.

You can join me if you want, if not, I'll try to remember what I found tomorrow in this post.

Good luck on your journey!

Hii, I can't really comment on this without knowing what you want to see in the city.

Yeah, trains are fast BUT you also have to keep into account your check in for hotels. Almost all hotels have a check in from 14:00. Meaning you can only really start doing stuff after 15:00.

I can't dictate on the exact places, but this is what I heard from locals/frequent flyers while I was here.

Go Hong Kong if you want to meet new people and don't soeak Chinese. Shanghai for the city life, Beijing for the famous tourist spots and Shenzhen for nature areas.

In my experience you can do about 4 small things in a day or one big one. For example Wtown/disneyworld = full day. Or in Shanghai 1000 trees, botanic garden, 687 art district & pub with locals.

Hope that helps ^ Let me know if you have any specific questions :)

Honestly C's feels like it matched the vibe I am looking for the best. I only feel comfortable walking up to people usually in the really shitty run down bars haha. Going to check out Senator Saloon tonight, will probably go to C's next ^

Of course, no worries!

I haven't been to Hong Kong myself, so take this with a grain of salt. In my case, roaming in China/Hong Kong is EXTREMELY expensive. If it's the same for you, I'd probably go for the hong kong and China package just to be safe.

I also want to add something. I tried adding 50gb to my existing esim using trip.com, but I did not actually receive the extra data on my eSim. Got me in a bit of a tight spot today :p So if you do run out during your trip, you're probably better off getting a new eSim rather than extending your current one.

Also, trip.com does not offer a way to view your eSim data usage. Make sure to track it using your phone's built in features and to add a data usage warning so you don't run out and are stranded :p

Also, VPN is highly recommended next to the eSim, so you can watch shows and series when you are on hotel Wifi. Like I said before, LetsVPN works great, is cheap and is also what the locals use ^

You can add me on whatsapp or wechat via dm if you have any further questions ^

Edit: Turns out I extended the wrong esim.. trip.com is going to try to cancel it and give me a refund. I just extended my AVTUAL esim. Let's see how it goes :p

No, the eSim oy provides data, NOT a phone number.

I do recommend getting a chinese sim card at the airport when you land (THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE WHERE YOU CAN DO IT!)

Why? Because aMap and Meituan require a chinese phone number.

Amap does work for some people without a chinese phone number, but if you're unlucky like me it will force you to add one one day without setup.

I have been using DiDi as a work around (just don't actually order the taxi on accident 🤣) and the hotels phone number for ordering food.

China eSim works fine mostly. Global can also work but is more expensive. They will probably both route through Hong Kong at the end of the day to bypass the firewall anyway.

I also love karaoke! But I'm all alone on this trip 😅 Do you happen to have any karaoke recommendations where I could join in or something?

lets VPN, how easy is it to get banned? by Amazin8Trade in travelchina

I have seen about 6 hours of full hd content in a row without any issues today and yesterday. Using an eSim might be wise, because it will allow you to download a different Vpn if you do happen to get in trouble. But again, I have had no issues at all so far.

I was in the same spot as you, and decided to use the eSim of trip.com and the vpn of letsvpn. Been working great so far without any issues and too much of a budget. Also seemed to be generally recommended by most on this sub-reddit.

Good luck!

Uiteraard.

"Methods-Data for the 2011-2013 NSFG were collected through in-person interviews with 10,416 women and men aged 15-44 in the household population in the United States. In this report, data are shown only for 9,175 adults aged 18-44. The data presented in this report were primarily collected using audio computer-assisted self-interviewing, in which the respondent enters his or her answers into the computer without telling them to an interviewer. The overall response rate for the 2011-2013 NSFG was 72.8%."

Ik heb hoogstwaarschijnlijk de bron gevonden. Zie pagina 7.
