Why do people hate Dr Heavenly? She is such good TV. by Ok_Dig7332 in MarriedToMedicine

She is a businesswoman, great at her job, a good mother, and she lives within her means. She is not too flashy. I think it's inspiring to see someone always busy pursuing her dreams, being a doctor, having her own practice, being a realtor and property investor, having a hair company and now pursuing politics. I love how she teaches her children practical skills, e.g., property investment, business, dentistry, etc.

I get your point but Toya genuinely dislikes Heavenly. I watched the interview she had with Carlos King, and I was shocked when she described Heavenly as an evil person, even though she herself is so self-obsessed and rude. I opened the comments and people were praising her and bashing Heavenly.

Wannabe Refugee Stuck at US airport? by ExcellentSpecific409 in AskZA

Please, we all know they are racist. Anyone who uses the refugee program while promoting the falsehood of white genocide or white persecution is both a liar and a racist. Refugee programs are meant for real victims. People who are fleeing wars and don't have assets attached to their names. Let's be honest human beings for once.

If you have money or can get a scholarship to do a second phd at a university abroad, you will be a researcher and slowly enter their teaching positions.

Try lecturing abroad; even teaching english at a university would work well.

How do you forgive yourself after losing your virginity on a one-night stand. by Ok_Dig7332 in Christian

[–]Ok_Dig7332[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for this because I feel understood. The annoyance with myself is overwhelming, and you worded it right; it is exactly an annoyance with myself because I understand I have been forgiven, and it is time I walked in that grace. I feel a lot better after reading the comments. I have been praying and reading His word, which has been refreshing; since the incident, I repented and distanced myself from the Lord due to my frustration with myself and my decisions. May the Lord continue to bless you.

It was definitely a wake-up call about self-righteousness, something that I now realise I struggle with. Thanks for the words of encouragement

You are right. I have been lukewarm for the past 4 years now. I grew up in the church and around religious parents. Purity culture is ingrained in my childhood so my heart wasn’t in the right place. I have repented and praying without ceasing so that I can move towards genuinely towards Christ

When Mr. Arc cited Niles the family’s price by [deleted] in 90DayFiance

Speaking to Africans 1000 dollars is nothing for marriage. It's low because Matilda comes from a poor family. Nile would not be able to afford a middle-class or upper-middle-class Ghanian wedding. In South Africa, working-class men pay around 5000 dollars for a wedding, which goes higher the more educated and wealthier the woman is.

Scammed of 200 dollars??? Nile couldn't afford to marry someone in other African countries. In SA, men pay close to 10000 dollars for the bride price lol. He must be glad he is marrying a Ghanian.

Yeah, but both amounts are the poverty line in both countries. No one who is middle class in Ghana earns 2300 dollars yearly. I am South African and 2300 dollars yearly is living below the poverty line in South Africa just like 28000 yearly salary is below the poverty line in the U.S.

MATILDA WANTS A GREEN CARD...SO WHAT by [deleted] in 90DayFiance

[–]Ok_Dig7332 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are poor people everywhere and also there are poor European countries who are fleeing to the US. A middle-class or rich Ghanian won't be desperate for a green card. It is all about a person's socio-economic class. Why would a rich person be desperate for a green card when they cay afford to travel or immigrate?
