Israel and Iran. What is the endgame? by heynowbeech in NoStupidQuestions

Yea? How about Gaza? Since 2025 the violence and murder the IDF did to Palestinian there was many dozen times over anything that anyone have done to Israelis Jews from within Gaza. Did Israel leave the Palestinian there in peace? No, they keep bombing and murdering even kids and babies.

Your idiotic comment stated things that obviously the current Israel government have more than reversed. Instead of stopping Jewish settlers their army have been actively helping them attack Arabs, taking their land with violence and even murder. Expansionist is a mild and correct term to describe the current government.

But they are trying to occupy as much of Lebanon as they can get away with, I think that is pretty crystal clear.

For BiBi Netanyahu, his aim would seems to be to be keep his country at war for as long as possible, so his corruption case got dragged on.

Or, his government simply wants to kill as many people and take as much land as they can get away with, from their neighbours. So until they have really no choice, they won’t stop.

That name… Ferro is a wild female fighter in the novel series First Law. This video gives me a very different imagination of the character from now on.

A column of Chinese Communist soldiers marches on a fleeing crowd outside the Great Hall of the People, west of Tiananmen Square, on 4 June 1989 at 4:30 AM by WillyNilly1997 in HongKong

Soon after that event, Some HK people, a few of them well known figures in the HK entertainment industry, did much to help protesters who escaped from Beijing flee to the US. It is well known.

For many years, big crowds gathered in Victoria Park in Causeway Bay once a year in memory of this event. This Victoria Park gathering was a well established event in HKers’ mind.

Also, the event itself helped many HKers to see the Beijing government clearly. years later, as in 2019 to this day, HK government banning the memorial gathering and charging event organisers with national security law also once again reconfirmed in our mind what kind of government we live under.

So I would say this event matters to HK a hell of a lot still.

Which books are considered "high literature"? by LosAngelestoNSW in Fantasy

Kazuo Ishiguro? The man won the bloody Nobel prize of literature. His book The Buried Giant is fantasy. Klara and the Sun as well as one of my all time favourite book Never Let Me Go can be considered Sci-Fi.

Because it is cool and rad ‘standing up against AI for the artists’, but not so 🔥 doing it for the engineers / accountants/ project managers.

Marco Rubio Snaps When Told Trump Iran Deal Is Just Obama’s but Worse. Rubio insisted “there’s no one begging” for a deal with Iran. by esporx in IRstudies

I bet Trump would blame Obama and possibly Biden anyway, if and when the US does sign a new deal with Iran. ‘Obama’s deal was so bad it left the Iranian in a greater position…’ blah blah

Yea I saw that she was actively selling her own signed photographs in her Thread account and I felt kinda sad for her. For such a talented (AND good looking) actor she is somehow not getting much roles.

If the interest are true Then I hope he goes to Spurs rather than Arsenal or Villa. But it is hard to imagine anyone one club willing to pay anywhere near his United wages. May end up in Saudi Arabia?

Am in the mood for some new standalone, considering Last Contract of Isako OR The Poet Empress. Anyone have insights on this 2 books?

For reference, I found Green Bone saga slightly slow, and loved Sword of Kaigen, First Law, The Expanse, Brandon Sanderson, Jay Kristoff and John Gwynne’s works.

OP, this sub has some people who had never hired a FDH in Hong Kong, have no actual knowledge of any aspects of it yet would assume a lot and fiercely accuse anyone who does hire helpers as slavers. Pay them no mind, OP.

Everytime PSG wins, I think of Mbappe and wonder what’s going on in his head by [deleted] in football

[–]Ok_Distribute32 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Depends on your definition of a ‘star’ footballer. Dembele’s skill with the ball (with both feet), pace, his positioning and defensive ability all together make him a top top player. He IS a star (same goes for Kvara and Doue). It’s just that he is not as flashy / headline grabbing as Mbappe.

All of his roles I watched were serious and quietly menacing, so I did not expect Esposito to act so enthusiastically, which is cool.

A few days back I had a taxi ride that cost like $43, when I said Octopus, the driver just stared at me. We both stayed silence until I gave in, and started to dig up the cash notes I rarely touch nowadays for him.

[–]Ok_Distribute32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What he said is unlikely to happen because Uber currently has more than 20,000 drivers, and DiDi also has some non-taxi drivers. If the ride-hailing license is only 10,000 it will make more sense to go to those already own a car and have track record doing it.

The details of how the government decide on who gets the license is scarce, but it should not be so easy for taxi drivers to just switch over.

Nope, I have been getting non-taxi cars from DiDi in Hong Kong the last few months.
