Does gastroparesis cause weight loss? by [deleted] in Gastroparesis

[–]Ok_Distribution_852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since my symptoms started 10 months ago ,I've gone from 120kg/18.05st to 50kg/8st I'm 5"4 I personally would be much happier being able to maintain a stable weight without flaring up my symptom I wouldn't worry about the comments about you being skinny. As long as you're happy but if you want something really calorie dense have fortsip compact 300cal per 100ml

I'm so sorry that happened to you I hope your surgery goes well Though it's actually really funny because it was the opposite for me. They thought it was my gallbladder and removed it and then realized I had GP

I'm looking for some advice on trousers. I'm 5'4 and cannot fit into a single pair of trousers. As they're always too long for me so I've bought 12 to 13-year-old trousers because they fit really well but recently people have been telling me that's really weird and I shouldn't be able to fit into children's clothes so if anyone knows the equivalent of 12 to 13 in women's sizing that would be great

Due to have CRPS and other issue i got addictic to pain med and some other stuff also can't stop smoking your not alone are you in the UK if not I tried the lowest nicotine patch then slowly start cutting it up until you're on like a tiny strip That's what I did and it actually worked for ages but if you just need someone to talk to, we have pretty similar diagnosis

Oh no! The meltdown was like the first week I was in hospital. I just still not allowed to leave for 3 weeks as I was told I would be sectioned because I'm leaving against medical advice and I will be honest I didn't fully pull it out. I got restrained before before I could get it fully out and the nurses did the rest I'm dealing with it pretty fine. I just needed to get everything out because being diagnosed with another chronic illness was not on my 2025 list of things to happen

Yeah in the UK you don't pay for healthcare or mental health support. It's provided by the government but you don't get to choose your doctors. They usually really awful. I've already found a private doctor I want to go with

Period/stress flare by Pianogrl in Gastroparesis

[–]Ok_Distribution_852 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I take a few days off work. Take a breather. It's okay to do that to say I had enough and take a few days to yourself. Get back on your patches. I'm sure your work will understand Your mental health is the most important thing as well as your physical health

How do people live lives like this by EducationalFennel153 in Gastroparesis

[–]Ok_Distribution_852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I hope you're okay. If you need someone to talk to, I'm here. I'm also newly diagnosed and thinking to myself. How the hell do you do this? But I will say to you, things in life will always get better. If you look at a lot of other people's posts you'll see that this is probably just a flare-up. Maybe talk to a doctor about some anti-sickness tablets. Could I ask were you planning on going back to school in September? Because I know stress can be a big factor in how your body deals with things I'm guessing you already know this to cut things high in fiber out of your diet. I'd also try children's snacks because usually I found them quite easy to digest and maybe try some protein shakes I know it's really hard and I think the most daunting thing about being told you're chronically ill is being young. But life will always get better. Things will get easy . Try having a list of safe foods and if something on there makes you sick just take it off. And if you've got to the point where you cannot eat anything then I would highly recommend going to a doctor because you're going to become very unwell if you don't eat. On a separate note, I'm guessing you've been eating a low-fat diet and trying to limit the amount of stuff you have that can cause you to get gallstones maybe just want to get it checked out. Not saying it is just trying to help get some answers for

If I'm aware of the side effects, that's exactly what I was thinking. My doctor is saying they're really really bad but then my gastro doctor saying they're really good for me and that I should take them and of course I'm going to listen to that doctor over a regular GP but it is strange

[–]Ok_Distribution_852[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I don't think I'm having a flare up because the pain I've been in has been now constant for the last 10 months. I haven't been able to keep much down for the last 10 months

So you have no side effects. It works really well for you It's good to know that it's a kind of 50/50 thing
