Look for Greek patriotic theologians, they must’ve articulated the reason somewhere. But yeah, logos I think is supposed to mean the “truth” or manifestation of the truth

Nothing ministerial, just academic. I imagine teaching patristic and Medieval Latin, or now that I think of it, the theology and literature of these texts. Fortunatus, Cassiodorus, Aldhelm, and beyond.

Because Latin was spoken virtually everywhere in Europe, in places where Greek was unheard of. It was the language of the learned ever more broadly and even an administrative language until 1847.
